Nineteenth work (19/21) in collection #K21@KanonDotArt "Doggy Clock" by

You can read about this most interesting work, Mika Rottenberg and Mahyad Tousi in an interesting interview for @KanonDotArt:
https://t.co/GExRDtQe0p
Rottenberg's video works feature women with various physical eccentricities, such as being very tall, large-bodied, or muscular. In the videos, these women perform physical acts that serve as an allegory for the human condition in post-modern times. Her videos are inspired by women who advertise their unusual characteristic online to be utilized for hire. "She hires women who in some form or another, use their body to profit in some way, and she is interested in how these bodies are marginalized and how "women's labor has been marginalized and almost invisible throughout history." "Her work explicitly concerns interactions between bodies and machines and 'the idea of ownership generally'." "Her works allegorize the increasing capitalization of biological life itself: not what labors produce but what bodies consist of, grow, secrete, and reproduce….by exploring relations between immaterial goods, bodily by-products, and manufactured products, Rottenberg exposes and playfully transgresses the divisions of race, gender, and geography that underlie the post-Fordist world system". She describes her work as "social Surrealism" and "a spiritual kind of Marxism." She strives to "... give space and a stage to women who don't always obey gender and conventional beauty expectations."
Mahyad Tousi @MahyadT is in the business of storytelling. A multidisciplinary artist, writer, and producer, he is the co-founder of BoomGen Studios and founder of Starfish Accelerator, which amplifies the voices of underrepresented artists and entrepreneurs. He was the executive producer of CBS primetime comedy UNITED STATES OF AL. Currently, he is writing 1001, a sci-fi adaptation of THE TALES FROM A THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS. His directorial debut, REMOTE, premieres in fall 2022, including at the New York Film Festival (Currents Selection) and at the Tate Modern. He sits on the advisory board of MIT’S Center for Advanced Virtuality and speaks internationally on the convergence of the arts and social impact.

Eighteenth work (18/21) in collection #K21@KanonDotArt "4004" by
David OReilly:
https://t.co/eSVIGA1Npv
You can read about this most interesting work and David OReilly in an interesting interview for @KanonDotArt:
https://t.co/nByOAJzuIt
OReilly's work is often characterised by the use of intentionally stripped down 3d graphics. He is known for popularising the use of low-poly 3d and the use of 3d software as a personal and artistic tool, as outlined in his 2009 essay "Basic Animation Aesthetics". He was an early adopter of glitch effects and uses elements of the software used inside his work. "[David] has been the man to lead animation through a conceptual blockage—3D animation was being dominated by commercial aesthetics....he deconstructed 3D to the point of absurdity."

Seventeenth work (17/21) in collection #K21@KanonDotArt "Einstein on the Beach—Chasing the Moon/沙滩上的爱因斯坦-追月" by China Tracy @cao_fei78:

You can read about this most interesting work and China Tracy @cao_fei78 in an interesting interview for @KanonDotArt:
https://t.co/k3pHaWoiRq
China Tracy’s creator, contemporary Chinese artist Cao Fei @cao_fei78, built a bustling metropolis on Second Life called RMB City (2007–11), where her avatar played guardian spirit and hostess supreme. In this sparkling, fantastical urban environment on the edge of the sea, there was culture: they staged an opera inspired by propaganda performances from the Chinese Cultural Revolution. There was real-estate speculation, meatspace collectors purchased property, and institutions like the Guggenheim Museum licensed the use of their buildings. There was also governance: they elected a mayor, UlliSigg Cisse, the avatar for real-life art collector Ulli Sigg, in a festive ceremony emceed by China Tracy herself.
Exhibitions:
Cao has staged numerous solo shows at galleries and museums in China, the United States, and internationally. Cao's notable solo shows include COSplayers (2006), Para Site, Hong Kong; Cao Fei: Whose Utopia? (2007), Orange County Museum of Art @OCMA, Costa Mesa, California; Cao Fei: Utopia (2009), Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane; Cao Fei (2016), MoMA PS1 @MoMAPS1, New York; and Cao Fei: Blueprints (2020), Serpentine Galleries @SerpentineUK, London.

Visitors of the museum were given the opportunity to have a bowl of curry whilst also discussing with each other the murals that were displayed around them, notably, portraying significant historical events such as Martin Luther King Jr.'s March on Washington in 1963. The title of the exhibition and the colours of the curry referred to the different colours worn by the various factions in recent Thai government protests. Tiravanija claimed that the purpose of this exhibition and the three colours of the curry is "nourishing food for the belly while contemplating the images' food for thought."

Myristica, a special supplement to KALEIDOSCOPE’s #36 created in partnership with @Gucci, portrays experimental cellist and songwriter Kelsey Lu @IAmKelseyLu as the protagonist of a comic book:
https://t.co/NbNvruwgZw
Terrell Villiers spent his teen years in conservative, mid-state Florida, a bastion of homophobia further divided by racial fault-lines. As a Queer Black, CIS-presenting male, his talents as an illustrator were a lifeline. Drawing was his superpower. Because he knew no one quite like himself, Villiers composed characters — peers, friends, and mentors — to populate a world otherwise devoid of nuance. But his path to a career as a celebrated digital cartoon illustrator and to being the proprietor of Terrell Villiers Creations was not linear.
