Meet Mark. The unluckiest Bitcoiner alive.
He invested $10,000 near the top of four major Bitcoin rallies:
2013, 2017, 2021, and 2024.
Four buys. $40,000 invested at almost the worst possible moments.
At $65,000 Bitcoin, his portfolio would be worth approximately $625,000.
He survived multiple 70–80% drawdowns.
He never sold.
A lesson indeed
Bitcoin made sense once I realized how fake our money really is.
To understand Bitcoin, you first have to understand what's broken about fiat money.
If you don't understand the problem, the solution will never make sense.
- You: "My stocks went up 10%."
- Government: "Congratulations! That's taxable."
- You: "But inflation was 8%. I only really gained 2%."
- Government: "We tax the full 10%."
- You: "You tax the inflation you created?"
- Government: "Capital gains are capital gains."
- You: "So you profit from debasing my money twice?"
- Government: "You're not an economist."
Things I am 100% sure of:
1. your trading ideas in general will not work
2. houses will be even more expensive 5 years from now
3. top hotels will be much more expensive
4. if you think California is pricey, wait 5 years.
5. bonds and other fixed income will dissapoint
6. stocks will be meh
7. a lot of AI startups will become enormous
8. the deficit will pass 50 Trillion
9. Bitcoin is the best risk return trade out there.
A gold analyst just made the best case for bitcoin I've heard all year. By accident.
His whole thesis: "the beauty of gold is it's not used for anything." Send gold to $1,000,000 and nobody gets hurt. Send corn to $1,000 a bushel and people starve. Send oil there and the economy collapses. A reserve asset has to be useless, because money that doubles as something people need to consume punishes everyone the moment it goes up.
He's right. He just stopped one step short.
Gold still has day jobs. Jewelry, electronics, dentistry. Bitcoin is used for even less. It was built to be money and nothing else. No industrial demand fighting its monetary demand, nothing to melt down, no factory waiting on the supply.
Gold is useless enough to be great money. Bitcoin is useless at everything except being money. Same principle, taken to its logical end.
The purest reserve asset isn't the one with the fewest uses. It's the one with none.
Satoshi solved digital scarcity. Bitcoin solved money.
When someone tells you they need another token, a money where they're the central bank, ask: Why?
If your product is valuable, why does it need its own money?
No man should work for what another man can print.
@SiloFinance Liars!Liquidations aren't working, and investors are losing money!Tell everyone how the liquidations with StreamFinance and StablesLabs turned out.The collateral has lost its value, and it's impossible to withdraw the money.Silo isn't responding and is blocking everyone on Discord
@SiloFinance The responses are all bots. In reality, Silo is not being truthful with you; it is very easy to lose money in Silo, just as people lost with xUSD and usdx.
@SiloFinance Silo does not protect your money; they only care about their commission. Silo is toxic; do not deposit money here, as you may lose it. Silo is a scam.
@TreehouseFi@SiloFinance Silo does not care about its users, does not check money managers, and when problems arise, does not care about users and bans them on social media for asking questions.
@SiloFinance Either all affected protocols SOLVE the problem together, or the vault market will not be successful. I think everyone has already felt the outflow of money.
