@lindypatagonia Between being on fires, you'll do maintenance and refurbishing on tools and apparatus, plus project work on your district but there is also a lot of downtime spent lounging, smoking, wrestling, playing cards, etc. Many even get laid off for the winter after "campaign season" ends
@lindypatagonia Wildland firefighting is about as close as you can get to this. Small, on-district fires are like skirmishes and large active fires are much more like a scaled up battle, complete with a command post and rotations between "the line" and the rear echelons.
@Lnknn__@Ozzny_CS2 Facts, I would love to see Niko and m0nesy win a major but as long as they're under the Falcons banner the Saudi hatewatch takes priority.
@Nobbie_OCs Photo from the Endurance expedition, 1915. True story of unbelievable courage and unlikely survival. And some serious swag in simple but effective cold weather clothing.
@roryisconfused I had this happen to me one time because I had waited too long to tell her I liked her and my life has never really been the same since then
@megalodummy @givemebudlight I always use Stars and Stripes Forever by Sousa, it’s not even a conscious thing it just pops into my head during compressions and I’m always suppressing laughter
@thereisnobeth The 18-25 dating space is a weird place to be in that any age gap greater than two or three years within that space represents a significant difference in maturity and life experience. Once you hit 25 you're good to date 30+ in my opinion.
@dj_viggi @jackunheard In the past two weeks there have been large wildfires in Oklahoma, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. You know nothing about anything.
@hyunnie_hunny@JayLGK I was 6 years old when the Bears were last in the Super Bowl. My parents tell me it was the biggest meltdown and temper tantrum of my entire childhood when they lost but they don’t fault me for it.
@Rainmaker1973 This is the exact same principle as using a bulldozer to create firebreaks, a very common sight on wildfires. Good on the farmer for quick thinking and application.
@cheetahprintmug I was an extremely picky eater as a kid, to the point of making my mom boil a hotdog or something along those lines. I grew out of it by learning that my "unsafe" foods were ingredients of my "safe" foods from the start and going "hmm maybe they aren't so bad after all."
