@AngryStudentCA@theOziee OK. I'm English. I've googled "reckless blindside". It is a rule/law in American Football/Ice Hockey. I can assure you it has nothing to do with the laws of the game in football. Nothing. Zero.
@Ola_Regen People don't know the laws of the game and how they are open to interpretation. Also in this World Cup many people from certain countries (well country, let's be honest) want to apply the rules of other sports.
@Ken_carson57@ChrisTaylorII This is the problem. We (UK/European fans) are engaging in good faith with people (US fans) who either don't know the laws of the game or want to ignore/change them.
@RySwim1@JacksonOnRadio@kermit2802 It's all about opinions. If you genuinely believe it was the Bosnian who was playing in a reckless or dangerous fashion then I think we should leave it there.
@RySwim1@JacksonOnRadio@kermit2802 The Bosnian player is focused on the ball and plays it fairly. The US player in trying to protect the ball did so with no regard to the Bosnian player's safety. Red card for serious foul play.
@RySwim1@JacksonOnRadio@kermit2802 I've read some of your other replies on this and clearly you are the biased one. I had no horse in this race. The US player is trying to protect the ball by putting his foot between the ball and the Bosnian player. He knew where the Bosnian player was because he looks up.
@RySwim1@JacksonOnRadio@kermit2802 I don't know what you mean by behavior caused by opponent and it was dangerous not reckless. Again, read the laws of the game.
@JacksonOnRadio@kermit2802 "The step by Balogun is purely accidental and happened after the other player initiated fair contact." This can be true and it can still be a red card. Read the laws of the game.
@erichhartmann The red card was largely ignored outside of the US because we didn't bother with that fixture. Since the corruption scandal we've all now seen it and.... what the hell are you moaning about, read the laws of the game, of course it was a red card.
@EwenDCameron It would be down to the interpretation of the word "swung" and for that matter "elbow". This is more of a brush with the forearm. He just about manages to restrain himself. I think a yellow for each of the 4 players involved.
