never posted about trading before. starting now. have been involved in the markets for +8 yrs and was one of the OG followers of the Indian Fin-Twitter world circa. 2017 (when people used to post rocket M2M screenshots and got the SEBI crackdown later!).
Moved to London for work but trading was my passion so still avidly sticking by it .

this is mostly for me. a place to track mistakes and look back later.

i added verified pnl (linked on my profile) so you know i'm actually trading - have multiple accounts but this is just one of them. A NAV growth presented below (take me seriously pls).

odd one from my book: sensex down a fourth straight session, yet my short sensex 73500 call is still underwater, 101.7 to 122. anyone else seeing calls hold up on down days this week?

and the hedge? 71700 PE bought ~150, ran to 407 right at the panic… i sold it at 5.75. −44K

closed the day −4.48L M2M, realised basically flat.

M2M went +1.26L at 10:37 → −12.08L at 14:03.

held the 72000 PE through all of it. bought it back at 63 → +54K on that leg.

the 72500 PE i did cut. at 1,033, near its 1,169 top. it closed 589. −1.86L 🙃

Morning strangle follow-up: 72,100 PE got breached, spot fell straight to 71,307 low. Premium touched 779.75 intraday before settling at 190, barely below the 192.90 open. Net change -2.90, but the ride in between was not chalega territory.

Red day, no sugarcoating. Started at -20.48L, clawed back to -6.95L, then gave back 5.93L again to close -12.88L. Nifty barely moved -0.88% but mera dimaag poora ghoom gaya. Discipline thoda kam tha aaj.

funny part: expiry day itself closed green on M2M. the damage was done the days before, expiry just made it permanent.

lesson: a hedge 5x smaller than your short isn't a hedge, it's a lottery ticket.

the trade: short nifty 24000 PE + banknifty 57000/55000 PE, some cheap long puts as a hedge

nifty slid all week. i kept thinking "it'll bounce by expiry" instead of cutting.

settled 22,716. 24000PE alone = −14.2L. hedges clawed back ~2.9L, nowhere near enough

Day started with -22.7L on the tape, clawed back to -3.5L, closed -6.9L. Nifty barely moved, Bank Nifty went its own way, VIX chilling at 13.49. Recovery hua but galti wahi purani, exit thoda late ho gaya.

Follow-up on this morning's strangle: 22650 PE + 22900 CE. Nifty stayed boring, high 22,750 low 22,571, closed 22,716. Both legs OTM, premium 51.05 to 0.20. Decayed to almost zero, bas dhoor gaya. Clean expiry day, nothing dramatic.

Nifty barely moved -0.28%, VIX at 13.41, sab kuch calm dikh raha tha. Meanwhile my P&L went from -21L to -29L and closed at -22.7L. Recovered some, but galti toh galti hai. Market ne kuch nahi kiya, main hi kar baitha.

Day started red, went deeper red, clawed back some, then gave 9.6L of that back before close. Net -21.17L. Nifty -1.56%, Bank Nifty -1.99%, VIX still chilling at 13.64. Dimaag thoda kharab hai aaj.

One strike did basically all of it — the 24000PE alone is -9.5L, BankNifty 57000PE another -2L. Everything else on the sheet is rounding error. The handful of greens up top don't even dent it.

4 green days, 1 red day, and that one red day (Thu) ate everything - and then some. Wed's +3.34L felt great for about 24 hours. Net week: -2.94L. Galti hui thoda position sizing mein, bas ab uska hisaab dena padega.

Market did nothing today, Nifty +0.34%, VIX at 12.16 bhai, sabse shaant din tha. And I still managed to close at -13,10,305. Recovered thoda from the -18,10,884 low, gave back 36,668 from the top. Galti kahin aur hai, market mein nahi.
