One of the most fascinating things I have learned from interviewing game devs for over half a decade is the sheer volume of game devs that either rarely play games or don't play them at all outside of work. (one dev told me they haven't played a game in over 10 years, you'd be surprised who it is, given their body of work.)
These seem to be the main reasons for this
1. They spend all day looking at a screen so they don't want to come home and look at a screen.
2. They don't want to be influenced by other games
3. Becoming a parent takes up all their time
4. Games have become monotonous homework for them
5. There are so many games that choosing one is too daunting now lol.
It is a fascinating phenomenon

Athletes reposition their feet because of an internal sense of their ability to create quick pressure into the ground in such a way it projects their body in the direction of travel. DO NOT CORRECT THIS! The CNS knows best.
