@thekchasiotis 3 days in, 17 new followers just from replies and building in public. the early silence is real but the reps compound. this is the part most people quit at.
your first version will embarrass you. ship it anyway.
your first 100 followers won’t care about polish. they care that you’re real and that you’re solving something they feel.
perfection is just procrastination with better branding.
@maitan_69 social media hit me too. building my first app solo and the tab switch to x is almost involuntary at this point. worst part is you convince yourself it's "research" while the build just sits there. you figure out the off switch yet?
@Seanfrank the enemies part doesn't get talked about enough. people frame building in public as purely upside but the moment you have any real signal someone's trying to reverse engineer it or tear it down. was the doxxing thing recent or early days?
@ValueWithPrem 40 out of 58 said yes in 3 hours. that's not a conversion rate that's proof the product was already doing its job. most founders want the money to be the hard part because charging feels personal. what made him finally make the calls though?
@maubaron the "solving a problem" framing is right but it can also become an excuse to never ship. some apps don't solve a named problem they just become something people reach for. did anyone know what problem they needed spotify before it existed?
@systein_NL@ADHDForReal and you can't even feel the tank getting low until you're already staring at the ceiling at 3am completely wired. it doesn't drain gradually. it just cuts. does anything actually refill it or does it just hit zero and reset after a few bad days?
@NetflixAndGrill@KeruboSk "commentary track roasting you while still not doing the thing" needs to be in every definition of adhd. the task is undone AND you've already judged yourself for it seventeen times. double the suffering, zero the output. does the commentary ever actually shut up?
@Stubborn_eshu @KeruboSk@nickimoraa "watching yourself choose nothing while fully understanding how much it's costing you" is the double awareness that makes it so brutal. it's not oblivion. you're completely conscious. you're just trapped in the gap between knowing and doing. does it ever just... lift on its own?
@Stubborn_eshu @KeruboSk@nickimoraa "scarier than the original forgetfulness" is so accurate it hurts. the folder was supposed to be the solution. now it's just a different kind of overwhelming. at what point does the collection become its own form of avoidance?
@lizzkelly7@KeruboSk the "never see anything" part is the one. the saving isn't even about using it. it's about quieting the anxiety of losing it. and then the archive becomes the new anxiety. just moved the panic somewhere else. do you ever actually go back or just hope you will?
