So that absolutely shocking VAR intervention for the Celtic penalty against Motherwell earlier this week proved to be crucial and helped rob Hearts and deliver Celtic the title. A great shame for Scottish football.
🏴 James Tavernier’s legendary Rangers era (2015–2026):
🏃♂️ 562 appearances

🅰️ 148 assists
🏆 292 goal contributions!
The ultimate modern goalscoring defender, 2021 Invincible Champion, and 2022 Europa League Top Scorer. Legendary captain. 👑
Raised this issue almost two years ago. Looking at Opta’s numbers, Rangers’ only player in the top 20 in the league this season for xA/90, is Tavernier.
As it stands, Rangers have nobody in the squad next season who can consistently create chances.
It’s almost bizarre that the American people allow this to continue. An idiot separated from reality by his own delusion, running his country based on impulse, the last conversation he had and with foreign policy being set by throwing darts at a dartboard it seems.
Big Rangers helper/supporter Steven McLean, who reffed Rangers' September home game against Hearts, in which Hearts scored an opener assisted by a clear handball, and then were awarded an extremely soft second half penalty.
Another conspiracy theory killed stone dead.
🔙 Then & Now.
🎯 16th August 2015 - 23 year old James Tavernier nets his first goal in the SPFL for Rangers.
🫶 25th January 2026 - Captain James Tavernier nets his 100th SPFL goal.
We need a nation wide campaign to stop the referees giving fouls for defenders falling over when they’re under pressure facing their goal and grabbing the ball.
It’s honestly the worst thing in football.
I see a lot of folk getting excited about this potentially meaning we are about to sign a host of medicore Scottish jobbers.
I'm hoping it simply means that we are planning on signing actual good football players who like to win things.
