Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014—the world’s largest, heaviest, and most powerful operating steam locomotive—rolled into Pottstown, Pennsylvania for a whistle stop as part of its historic cross-country journey in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

Thousands turned out in the 100°F+ temperature to catch a glimpse of the historic train—an iconic symbol of American ingenuity and industrial might.

“Big Boys” were built in Schenectady, New York by the American Locomotive Company, with 4014 the only remaining one in operation.

It’s being displayed in Philadelphia for the Fourth of July weekend. 🚂🇺🇸

A milestone moment for one of the internet's favorite eagle families.

Luna, the young bald eagle who captivated viewers through a live webcam in Big Bear Lake, California, took her first flight this week.

The eaglet launched from the nest to a nearby tree, where her father, Shadow, was waiting. Friends of Big Bear Valley said Luna "took the leap of faith" without hesitation.
