High Commissioner of India H.E Mr. Amararam Gujar visited #mHub, Malawi's first startup incubation centre for technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. During the visit, Founder of mHub , Dr. Rachel Sibande and mHub executives briefed the High Commissioner about technology, innovations and entrepreneurship activities at their facility. According to the mHub’s CEO Elija Lumbani Mkandawire, the firm has disbursed over US$2 million to mainly startups in Malawi and trained over 5000 entrepreneurs with women dominating over 57 percent. In his remarks High Commissioner proposed for more technological innovation in health , tourism and transport sectors. Ms Sibande thanked the High Commissioner for his visit and suggestions. The High Commissioner also interacted with entrepreneurship program beneficiaries who showcased their products and sharing business entrepreneurship journeys. The product exhibited were fruit juices, detergents, organic fertiliser, herbal tea, cooking oil and agricultural commodities. The High Commissioner also appreciated the digital innovations developed by #mHub in governance and public service delivery system.
