What hurts my heart the most is the people voting for Trump for financial reasons and don’t agree with any of his other policies or handling of the pandemic. They’re basically saying their own personal wealth matters more than lives/ social justice and I can’t stomach that
My patients tubal was canceled because of COVID. Was given depo & never missed a dose.
Presented for her rescheduled tubal & she’s pregnant.
Her tubal was covered by insurance. Her abortion is not. She can’t afford an abortion.
This is our healthcare. #vote

Wondering where our graduates go? Mix of academics, private practice, & fellowship! With high volume & diverse patient experiences we create strong generalists, but we also have a 100% match into accredited fellowships, 2 current chiefs already matched into #FPMRS#ACOGResWeek20

Seeing lots of “there are many reasons to prescribe birth control outside of pregnancy prevention” posts today.
While this is true, it’s important to maintain access even if the purpose is solely contraception! You shouldn’t have to justify medical conditions & needs to anyone.
So today I learned insurance will often pay for hormonal contraception if it’s listed for other indications like abnormal uterine bleeding, fertility, etc. BUT there’s also a committee that will approve it at these institutions with moral or religious objections to birth control
So basically there’s a committee that meets to not only decide if a woman can have a contraceptive method, but also that her complaint/ indication for it is real...yet another group of people telling her what she can do with her body and decide if her condition warrants treating
