What an idiotic and dangerously misguided statement. Somalia is a sovereign country with every right to rebuild its army. Refugees living in Kenya do not make Somalia’s legitimate security needs a threat to Kenya. Regional stability requires responsible diplomacy and cooperation
Kenya must stop pretending that Somali rearmament is a distant matter. How can any serious nation watch a neighbour rebuild its army while the greater part of that neighbour’s population still sits inside our borders? The danger is not theoretical.
A state that has not first gathered its own people and stabilised its own house has no right to arm itself beside us. Every weapon collected while their population remains here is a potential threat to our peace. Kenya cannot continue in softness. The question is no longer diplomatic courtesy ,it is national survival. Either we demand clarity and control now, or we will pay later in blood and instability. The choice is still ours, but not for long.
19 Aug - @NCRDS_SOMALIA’s Director General Zahra Abdi (@sara_bilan) joined the courtesy meeting between the Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation (@MoIFARSomalia), H.E. Hon. @AliYusufHosh and the newly appointed @UNDPSomalia Resident Representative Mr. @Chris_Politis

@faisalroble19 A powerful reflection on the resilience and aspirations of the people of the Northeast. Sustainable peace must be matched with inclusive development, reconciliation, justice, and equitable investment. The future of Somalia depends on unity, peaceful coexistence, NES Somalia🇸🇴
@HamzaAbdiBarre@OmarHashi114 Thanks PM Hamze for your relentless efforts and a clear commitment to unity, stability, and development. Wishing lasting peace, progress, and prosperity for Northeastern State of Somalia Las Anod and all of Somalia. 🇸🇴
Today, I am profoundly inspired by the remarkable progress that Las Anod has achieved since the historic moment we inaugurated it as one of the Federal Member States of our beloved Republic.
This progress is more than the story of a city, it is a testament to the resilience of our people, the strength of our unity, and the enduring promise of our nation. It stands as proof that when Somalis choose solidarity over division, hope over fear, and nationhood over narrow interests, there is no challenge beyond our capacity to overcome.
I pay tribute to the unwavering patriotism of the people of the North East State of Somalia. With dignity and resolve, they have rejected division, resisted all attempts to undermine our sovereignty, and stood firmly in defence of Somalia's territorial integrity. Their commitment is not only a service to their region but a service to our entire nation.
The Federal Government remains steadfast in its responsibility. Every government institution will continue to deliver essential services, strengthen governance, and invest in the economic and political prosperity of Las Anod and its people. Our duty is clear: to ensure that every Somali citizen enjoys the peace, opportunity, and security that they deserve.
I also extend my sincere gratitude to Somalia's development partners and our friends across the international community for their continued support. Your partnership has been invaluable in advancing Somalia's journey towards stability, prosperity, and lasting peace, and your support for Las Anod will help shape a stronger future for generations to come.
Together, united in purpose and confident in our destiny, we will continue to build a sovereign, peaceful, and prosperous Somalia for all.
