Professor Hajara Ibrahim is a distinguished Nigerian pharmacist, academic, and researcher who made history as the first female Professor of Pharmacy in Northern Nigeria.

Born on 15 August 1962 in Zaria, Kaduna State, she obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy, Master’s and PhD in Pharmacognosy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

She joined ABU in 1987 and became a Professor in 2006. Her decades of work have focused on medicinal plants, herbal medicine, drug development, drug interactions, and pharmaceutical research.

Beyond teaching and research, Professor Hajara has supervised many students, published numerous research papers, served in academic leadership roles, and mentored young pharmacists and researchers.
