A clear, well written & well evidenced report from CQC. It’s overriding message - that the problems identified in major inquiry reports are not isolated & that the changes so clearly needed aren’t happening - cannot be ignored. The time to act is now. @wesstreeting
The CQC report out today is deeply concerning which highlights failures across hospital trusts in maternity care. Their findings reinforce the shocking evidence I heard charing the #BirthTraumaInquiry in Parliament earlier this year. Urgent action to address concerns in maternity safety is now needed. The new Government has not yet responded to the findings of our cross party inquiry so I have written again today to the Health Secretary @wesstreeting to ask the Government to formally respond to our recommendations including for a new national comprehensive maternity strategy and a new Maternity Commissioner to report to the the PM @Keir_Starmer@AmandaPritchard@BirthTrauma@NHSEngland
We represent many parents and children who have had experience the neonatal unit, and we often hear how hard the experience in hospital and going home can be. We are extremely proud to sponsor @Blisscharity ‘Going Home Guide’ and to support Bliss' work with families.
