Galamseyers have invaded a farming community at Asempanaye, near Kwahu Praso in the Kwahu South District of the Eastern Region, leaving farmers frustrated and calling for government intervention.

Some cocoa farmers who spoke to Kwahu Ambassador in an interview said there had been earlier discussions about operating in the community, which they strongly opposed. However, a few days ago, miners allegedly entered the area with excavators, destroying cocoa farms and creating paths to their concessions without offering any compensation.

The farmers expressed concern that the activities could soon extend further into their farms, threatening their livelihoods.
