Couldn’t be happier for JB. I’ll never forget how excited I was when the Mavs drafted him in 2018. The guy’s been a standup winner since day 1. If only the Mavs had any sort of smart leaders, maybe he’d still be in Dallas. But what he brought to NY is truly special, what a legend
Imagine drafting both of them in the same draft
Deciding you want neither of them
Only getting one 1st rounder, 29 games of Anthony Davis, and Max Christie in return
Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Dončić and New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson have been named the NBA Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for Week 6 of the 2025-26 season (Nov. 24-30).
Nico Harrison reportedly blames Mark Cuban for the Mavericks losing important players like Christian Wood and Jalen Brunson, per @BannedMacMahon
“Harrison blamed Cuban for what he believed were the Mavs' biggest personnel mistakes during his tenure, which came in summer 2022: allowing Jalen Brunson to get away in free agency and trading for Christian Wood, a player Kidd didn't want to coach and resented having on the roster. Several members of the coaching staff and front office also faulted Cuban for those moves.”

Nico Harrison reportedly urged Anthony Davis to return early from his calf injury, despite the Mavericks’ medical staff warning that there was a chance he could tear his Achilles if he came back too soon 😳, per @TheAthletic
“Monday’s loss to the Bucks marked the sixth straight game Davis has missed with a left calf strain. Multiple league sources said Davis has tried to convince the Mavs to let him return to the court, and Harrison urged him to return, but the team’s medical staff forbade it, citing the potential for a torn Achilles if Davis returned too soon.”

The incompetence is absolutely staggering. I can’t wait to see what org, company, nonprofit, etc. that hires Nico next.
The most self sabotaging move maybe ever. Not just sports, but in all of business. The proof is in the pudding. Well done @tim_cato@DLLS_Mavs
“It’s simply the worst move an executive has made in sports in 100 years… What this guy… did to Mavs fans, is one of the most sports-sad things I’ve seen.”
@getnickwright reacts to the Mavericks firing GM Nico Harrison:
BREAKING: The Dallas Mavericks and owner Patrick Dumont are expected to fire general manager Nico Harrison at a 10 am central time meeting on Tuesday, sources tell me and Tim MacMahon.
Good news. But let’s not act like it’s all good. Dumont needs to step away from the reigns and not be the one determining who sits/plays from injury. He needs to put together a committee to do this work for him. Dumont clearly knows nothing about basketball, health, or fitness
Tim MacMahon on Anthony Davis:
“Anthony Davis wanted to play Saturday in Washington… There was internal disagreement about whether that was a good idea… One of the opinions that was involved here was Patrick Dumont. Patrick Dumont went from blind faith in Nico to weighing in on whether a star can come back from injury.”
Nico,
-You knew AD was injury prone
-You knew you trading a 5x 1st Team All NBA player
-You knew you didn’t have a PG until D-Lo
-You knew you lucked into the #1 overall pick w/ a 1.8% chance
-You knew you’d receive backlash
Or maybe you didn’t. Which makes you a big dumbass
