Watching KS speech back again on News. Beggars belief but he actually says, "I inherited a Party that was morally bankrupt". Seconds later, "..standing up for decency, respect, and the rule of law...". Yet he packed the Lords with his mates, took the freebies and chose Mandelson.
It genuinely amused me that people think replacing Starmer will make things better.
From Boris Johnson's election onwards, we've been shuffling the bollards on the Titanic.
You have to actually change direction if you want to avoid crashing into the iceberg:
- End Net Zero
- Make business viable again
- Get welfare under control
- Fund defence
- Ensure equality under the law
- Arrest criminals and keep them in jail
- Deport illegal immigrants and close the border
- Bring the civil service to heel
Burnham will become as unpopular as Starmer within months since he isn't going to do any of that.
I know I'm droning on about the social media ban - but I cannot believe the numbers on here believing it's to do with children's welfare. There are actual heartfelt debates about how the ban - only a lever for digital IDs - comes from a place of caring even a jot about children.
The ban on social media for children under 16 is an idea that has merits. But the way it is being done is simply a way to force everyone, including adults, to identify themselves online, creating the most powerful surveillance and censorship architecture in human history.
The State will give your children breakfast, help them choose their gender, and determine what information they are exposed to.
Some might say this overeach by the chunky jewellery class that did fuck all to protect children from predatory rape gangs.
I've got an idea. Why don't we put all the open borders dickheads and illegal migrants in a gated community together and see how that pans out? Maybe livestream it. For science.
He's not my "great hero". Sounds like your issue with Musk is his political views, not his wealth. You don't seem to be quite so bothered about the other multi-billionaire "tech bro's" who share your views. Just be honest and say you only approve of super-rich tech chiefs who agree with you.
"The UK is racist!"
The UK is so insanely non-racist that you have to reach the point of men being beheaded by Sudanese jihadis and tens of thousands of British girls being raped and tortured before we even consider doing something about it.
Well the pattern is now set:
Atrocity
Condemn in weakest terms possible
Calls for calm
Angry scenes
Family of victim used
Full force of the law
New laws limiting everyone's freedom
Ignore problem that caused atrocity
I don’t support rioting from anyone but when BLM did it, Labour said that MPs should speak to the black community and listen to the concerns.
Following the scenes in Belfast, has any Labour MP mentioned speaking to white, working class communities to listen to their concerns?
Please remember that you must not express your feelings about the Belfast atrocity until the political establishment has told you exactly how you are supposed to feel. That's how it works now.
The electorate has had enough of 'the media'? No, Gordon, they've had enough of an incompetent government which, to quote Pat McFadden, taxes them to pay benefits; of an economically illiterate Chancellor destroying businesses and increasing unemployment; of a police force that thinks racism is a worse crime than murder; of judges who refuse to jail teenage rapists who filmed themselves degrading their victims. They've had enough of so-called progressives telling them women can have penises and had it up to here with Islamists and other useful idiots mourning murderous mullahs on our streets. They've had enough of being branded "far right" by actual antisemites. But most of all - they've had enough of denialists like you pretending that none of this is happening.
