So we can fuel our phones and electric vehicles — many of the Congolese workers will die. Many have already plunged to their death.
No words.
And many will only believe the crimes committed in Gaza when the snipers get on camera - hidden face, altered voice- to confess their atrocities.

NEW ANALYSIS —
In Gaza, Israel’s ongoing destruction during the so-called ceasefire is desecrating the bodies of Palestinians which remain beneath the rubble.
Our analysis of videos and satellite imagery finds military practices of demolition, compaction and removal of rubble. These risk making the recovery of Palestinian remains impossible in the 65% of Gaza under Israel’s control.
Statement at the 63rd Session of the UN Human Rights Council
Adoption of the Universal Periodic Report (UPR) report of Sierra Leone
Delivered by: Zélie Leïla Ménard
Thank you, Mr President.
CIVICUS, Campaign for Good Governance (CGG), the Network Movement for Justice and Development (NMJD), and the Mother Earth for Climate Justice (ME4CJ) welcome the government of #SierraLeone's engagement with the UPR process.
Since its last review, Sierra Leone has only partially implemented one out of 17 recommendations relating to civic space. While in the previous cycle, the government accepted 14 recommendations, it appears to have backtracked on this commitment in this cycle.
CIVICUS and its partner organisations are concerned that the government did not accept any recommendations in relation to harassment, intimidation and attacks against civil society activists, human rights defenders and journalists that curtail the fundamental freedoms including freedom of association and expression. Instead, the state has continued using laws and security personnel to harass, intimidate and persecute civil society activists, HRDs and journalists.
We urge the government to uphold its human rights obligations, repeal Part III of the Public Order Act 1965 which restricts citizens right to peaceful protests and processions, implement progressive laws and policies, and create an enabling environment for civil society and human rights defenders. At the same time, accelerate the process of institutional reform and ratification of relevant mechanisms including African Court to grant citizen direct access to the court so as to further improve the enjoyment and enforcement of human rights without delay.
We thank you. https://t.co/3OUJM5viZ1
To the Irish team, this is your chance to go down in history, to be part of Ireland’s proud legacy of solidarity with the oppressed. Take this chance, you will never regret being on the right side of history. Don't play Israel. #StopTheGames
In war, children are sadly killed, most commonly (collaterally) by artillery and airstrikes. But it is comparatively rare for children to be killed by gunshot, much less in single-shot wounds.
In Gaza, however, children have been shot at an astonishing level; and not in crossfire, but usually with single-shot wounds to the head and chest. This bizarre pattern is easily confirmed through open-source research, of the sort the BBC has done and my team and I have done for AOAV. And it is a big part of the story of Gaza, as to why so many children have been killed. (More than were killed by any military in any war this century.)
Nor is this the product of "child soldiers." If it were, we'd expect 16 and 17 year old boys - who are the vast majority of the very small number of minor combatants hasbara researchers have identified - to be the bulk of those shot. Instead, as a @BBC study showed, most children shot by the IDF in Gaza have been 11 or younger.
If you think a sectarian organisation like the Orange Order should even exist in 2026 you should examine your idea of what good community relations is actually is.
@C4Dispatches@DalrympleWill It’s clear that successive governments from Sunak to Starmer deliberately ignored the evidence of war crimes to continue to arm Israel in its genocide. They need to be held accountable and should be prosecuted for their complicity
