WHEN TRUTH MEETS COURAGE: A CLERIC WHO SPOKE FOR THE MASSES.

I sincerely wish our Northern Islamic clerics would take a cue from Dr. Bashir by standing firmly with the truth and the people.

He boldly reminded us that leadership should never be about tribe, religion, or blind loyalty, but about competence, unquestionable character, integrity, and the genuine capacity to serve the masses.

Dr. Bashir did what many fear to do, he spoke plainly about the rot in governance.

He exposed how governments waste and mismanage millions of naira annually, how budgets are passed yet never seen by the people, and how leaders recklessly borrow money that we cannot repay, debts that will hunt not just us, but our children and even our grandchildren.

On the so called tax reform, he was very clear and courageous. He stated that many irregularities and dishonesty was found in the tax reform and condemned it because of the forgery discovered in it, stressing that no policy built on dishonesty can bring relief to the people. Tax reforms should ease the suffering of citizens, not become another tool for exploitation, fraud, and elite enrichment.

If more Northern clerics can rise above fear and speak like Dr. Bashir, guiding people to vote based on truth, justice, and accountability, Nigeria will undoubtedly be a better and more just country.

May Allah bless him, strengthen him, and preserve him. Ameen.
