Many kids end up homeless, used for cheap labour because people are not educated on how to deal with an orphaned child, this whole system is more normal to the whites than blacks. Don’t you think so? #orphans#fostercare @Waterloo_TWF
Today when I was going through my Facebook I saw this, looked at the number of the followers, I asked myself, “do these people know what they are will to get themselves into? Many people think it’s easy until they start staying with the kid. Africa needs to be educated on this!
Are people educated enough on how to deal with orphans, especially those who grew up in orphanage? Kids in orphanages find it hard to trust anyone and do you think they are going to adjust well with new people around them? Don’t you think there is something that can be done?
Everybody believes themselves to be doing the right thing by God, and by the state for the big society fast tracking foster care system. Awful things happen to children in foster care, and it gets worse. My question today is, looking at Africa, do you think we are ready for this?
Why can’t we encourage our children, the ones in care, in the greatest need, to receive our greatest treatment in the same way we would our own? #love#orphans#socialservice@MudiwaHood
I have always heard that social workers should not be emotionally involved. Don’t you think that, that statement is emotional, and is a brutal act of emotional terrorism of any child entering the care system?
complain that their case load is light, I hope for the day when social workers are filled with pride because they are respected and supported to the fullest extent for the job they do on behalf of us. #orphans#changes#love
So I want you to think about this, as a child of the state, you are supposed to leave care when you attain the age of 18-21, and a child in care is more likely to go to prison than to university few months after leaving care. You don’t need to be a bad person, you might be…
Doing something to save your life, for example, when I went to South Africa, I left Zimbabwe with only my passport, and stayed there for 4years without any documents that would allow me to stay there for that long. Had I been caught by the police, I would have been taken…
here you are loved, respected and the most important part of the entire system. Help them with therapy while they are in care as it is written on the paper, so as to prevent the problems that come with trauma, but no one does that. I long for the day when social workers …
to the prison and stay the until the day I will be deported. Furthermore, even with the bad ones, the responsibility of a child in care starts and ends with us, you know the trauma your child went through, on the doors of the care system it should read, it stops here, from…
Often, we think a child in care is in a better place, but orphanages are usually an illusion of protection. What if each and everyone of us ensured that the government provides a safe environment for every child in care to flourish by treating each child as their own? #orphans
So, for a child in care of the state, it’s legal parent is the government, so the government is literally its family. The state is its carer and naturer, which means children in care should really feel safe in this society, but the first challenge we face as children in care …
I was fortunate that I was raised in an orphanage where love, and prayer were their important values, but having been staying in South Africa, and meeting with other people from different orphanages, I realized that some orphans didn’t have it easy when they were in care…
is growing up in fear of talking about our background. People feel sorry for us when in actual fact we don’t need pity, instead we need respect. We deserve to own, and live the memory of our own childhood, but often we don’t even want to talk about the period we were in care…
and I feel like there are several changes which could make life more bearable for orphans. I want to connect with the right people, who have orphans at heart, and willing to make these changes with me. Please, check my YouTube channel for my full story. #love#changes#orphans
Having been a child of the state, or in care for 18years, leaving care when I attained the age of 18years old, moving from home to home, I have experienced what almost every orphan goes through, I would love to share my experience…
