CRAZY NATURE

[CRAZY NATURE @Ma_Mc]

@whammyinmiami @NSDwx Yup, near Seattle, waiting to when/if rotation forms upstream, and what early storms are doing!

[CRAZY NATURE @Ma_Mc]

NOT an official issuance of a Tornado Watch! (Not to say it can't happen).

ChatGPT Report of NWS authority to issue statements; legal action potentially against others trying to.

Some armchair weather dude really created this Facebook page this morning just to take advantage of the severe event and spread misinformation. He is NOT a reliable source of PNW weather information! Follow @NWSSeattle @NWSPortland @NWSSpokane @NWSPendleton! #wawx #orwx

@useTMX Yes, taken with my iPhone about 630PM, last night (2/24/25). It was a pre-frontal squall line that came through as the winds first picked up.

[CRAZY NATURE @Ma_Mc]

@useTMX If you credit me as "Crazy About Nature," go ahead. Thanks.

[CRAZY NATURE @Ma_Mc]

@StoryfulNews @NWSSeattle @KIRO7Seattle @komonews @KING5Seattle Absolutely... and the iPhone 16 did just fine except overwhelmed a bit by the lightning. Wish I'd been focused just a bit to the left, but what can you do.

[CRAZY NATURE @Ma_Mc]

KABAAM!

Lightning strikes over Bothell WA. I'm sure many have better captures!

Don't get me started. I'd rather have the admin have the data in NOAA systems than data from treasury, fib, military etc (twilight zone music playing). Not terribly confident how NWS model and hardware upgrades will be forthcoming.

About 2" in N. Bothell this AM... snowing lightly, 32°. Trained spotter / retired meteorologist. Looks like sun this week then warming? Nearly 30 consecutive days of below-normal temps (except 1/31). Heading out now to see what's going on. #wawx @nwsseattle #weather

FEBRUARY 6 SNOWFALL

Four (4) inches this morning in Bothell, after measuring in several places.

(Eight years ago today, 02/06/2017, it was 14" of fresh snow where I was on Cougar Mountain.)

[CRAZY NATURE @Ma_Mc]

@terp_king710 When it's unexpected it's always a pleasant surprise for those looking for snow.

[CRAZY NATURE @Ma_Mc]

@MorganKIRO7 @UW I'm curious, which new in-house model?

Seems like most with the need will have their own in-house choice before the GFS ever gets upgraded.

[CRAZY NATURE @Ma_Mc]

@SeattleWXGuy Publishing it is surely louder than a whisper... oh well. Actually I think when weather lovers start to speculate on how cold it might be, and how much snow might fall, it guarantees it ain't happening.

[CRAZY NATURE @Ma_Mc]

@zingtweet Strong cold front passage, with near squall line. Loudest I've heard the rain in a few years anyway, with some accompanying lightning.

[CRAZY NATURE @Ma_Mc]

@emilystbr "Never Lost It" option?

[CRAZY NATURE @Ma_Mc]

@BenJurkovichWX I had looked up a list of "days" assigned to 11/19 and among them are "World Toilet Day" and "Have a Bad Day Day"... take your pick and append "Windstorm" I suppose. Now neither describes locations or mechanisms of the storm itself.

[CRAZY NATURE @Ma_Mc]

@MorganKIRO7 How sweet it was! Other than last year's near miss, we've tied once for the National Championship (1991), and perhaps been the obvious choice (1960) when winners were announced before the Rose Bowl (we beat that team at the Rose Bowl). Fuller story: https://t.co/oWODNJmGT6

@DeneMiles @KSeattleWeather @weatherchannel Perhaps there are other hashtags that might be useful. I noticed some cloud ID under #CloudIdentification, but not a ton. Perhaps some professors get into more of these as a close or associated part of their curriculums. #CliffMassReal
