@AmerSharifOFCL The brutal salary taxation incentivize tax evasion and to remain outside the tax net. Like why would anyone want to become a filer and open the door to innumerous tax notices, audits and for what? Buy new cars for FBR, judges. Planes. In Sindh, tax is charged on school fees.

@AmerSharifOFCL @FBRSpokesperson An idea for FBR: since many professionals have left the country due to brutal salary tax, however, they still need to contribute. FBR should change the 'resident' definition and anyone who has been issued a CNIC, NICOP, POC etc. have to pay tax in Pakistan too

FBR performance summed up:

Less than 5% of our total income tax comes from the efforts of the officers who were just given 1,000+ Honda City cars. Their real duty is to catch tax evaders and expand the tax net — not to keep pressuring the same compliant taxpayers again and again. Instead of sitting back and depending on withholding taxes/auto collection as if they’re magic, we need real enforcement and real results.
