The post-AGI world is a Minecraft server where your friend has built automated factories for everything you could possibly need
That’s usually the point where everyone stops playing because it’s boring
Sometimes people build massive weird art projects at that point, but that gets boring too
The only thing left to do after that is to create new simulated environments (games), where you can compete and feel meaning again—eg. Have duels or a duel ranking system
It’s not hard to imagine how reality could be a fractal of simulations. Once a world becomes “solved”, the only thing to do is to create a new unsolved world to conquer
i've always framed consciousness as "an internal interpretation of sensory/input data", which would make for a pretty compelling argument that AI is conscious in its own way - like any life form with sensory inputs and interpretation, without having to have an answer for its origins.
it also doesn't have to justify rocks.
this always made the most sense to me.
as for "nodes" and children - i think about this differently:
if consciousness is a spectrum of input data and processing - at a certain threshold you reach self awareness - as children do. some species have minimal sensory data or minimal processing and consciousness to them would appear OOM lower on the spectrum - lacking memory, self awareness, or anything beyond mostly instinctive behaviour.
if you think of an equation as simple as X is input data Y is processing capacity then you can take x * y and plot almost anything to give it a place on the scale (obviously not an equation to be taken literally - merely as a thought experiment).
basically we're all just streaming.
worst implementation of AI to date has to be customer support bots right? they're so lobotomised to avoid abuse that its like talking to ELIZA and i've not once had an experience that didnt involve brute forcing through to a human.
people larping on X with 2 day long tasks and nothing to show are the new crypto bros. lots of posturing, no output.
"I've got 4 openAI pro subs and spent 2 billion tokens this week"
nice, what did you build?
@SteliosV1@PeekFalone@jaga_prasanna@thsottiaux yeah because you start them all at different times - but assuming you were using one when the reset happened - that will be in sync with every other account being used when the reset happened (unless it was billed since)
