Yesterday, on behalf of the National Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation, Gen. Salim Saleh, I chaired a meeting with leaders from Kasese District on the progressive steps being taken towards the reopening and revival of Kilembe Mines.

The meeting was attended by Members of Parliament from Kasese, the LCV Chairperson, Division and Municipality Leaders, and one of the directors of Sarrai Group - the strategic investor for Kilembe Mines.

The Director of Sarrai Group briefed the leaders on the steps that have so far been taken to redevelop and reopen the Mines.

The leaders were updated on the roadmap and the commitments made to ensure that mining operations at Kilembe resume and benefit the people of Kasese and Uganda at large.
