@z0mbje@KTibow@dootskyre@samhenrigold some emojis are actually multiple characters! π³οΈββ§οΈ is actually stored as 3 "characters": flag emoji, zero-width-joiner, and transgender symbol
similarly, most of the gendered person emojis are the generic one joined with a gender symbol
@gabem_p@noinconsistency auto is in C now as well fyi
in C there isn't any type which you can't spell (like C++ lambdas with captures), and no type parameters, so it's not as useful, but still comes in handy sometimes
@catgirlprostate I remember trying to play some old flash games on the eve of the shutdown, and it BSODing my laptop. it truly was something special, the jankiness was part of the charm, but yeah, it had to go
@lookoutitsbbear The scope measures WHEN in the frame the spot it's pointing at lights up. The game code then does a bit of math to determine where the scope is pointing at any given moment. So, you can't trick it by pointing it at a lightbulb either, it relies on precise timing. (2/2)
@lookoutitsbbear That's the SNES super scope, which does not work like that. It exploits the fact that CRTs light up in a scanning pattern, each row left to right and those top to bottom; persistence of vision makes it seem like all the pixels are lit up at once. (1/2)
@vaxryy But I am paying for that utility by not being able to screenshot (I was too lazy to add support for transformed images to my custom screenshot tool initially, and now it just crashes π)
@vaxryy My vertical is an IPS, so it looks fine; I didn't expect it to be so useful! I like it for reading PDFs, docs pages, or stacking two or three "utility" windows on top of each other comfortably: timers, notes, btop, opencode etc
@ThatEricAlper To counterbalance a bit, as a more mathsy person writing essays in HS absolutely did give me trouble. I often didn't care about the material (classical literature usually) enough to have enough opinions to write about, but I absolutely can write a couple thousand about floats etc
@MissDarkFaerie@RoguePOTUSStaff I don't remember the specifics off the top of my head, but yes. Depending on how they work exactly, you can overdose on some vitamins (but not all of them). If I recall correctly, you can't do it with vitamin C for example
