Driven by my passion for the outdoors, I strive to create fine art landscape photographs that capture unique and inspiring moments of the natural world.
It can be hard to do, but getting out of bed to watch the sunrise is one of my favorite experiences.
When was the last time you stopped to watch a sunrise?

I'm working to rebuild the habit of posting every day. Posting reminds me that sharing the world with others is one of the pillars of my vision for the company.
Sorry for my absence. I can't wait to get back out on the trail with you. #visitmorganhillca#calparks
All Lined Up
Instead of just heading home after attending an expo in the city I decided to drive north to spend a couple of hours enjoying the cool temps and new views of an icon.

THANKFUL THURSDAY
Good morning friends. I've not been around much on social media for the last several months. This has nothing to do with you, but I just needed a break.
With all of the storms blanketing the West Coast I've found myself reminiscing about nights in the hills watching the sunset.
Where's a spot you love to watch the day come to a close?

Wildrose Charcoal Kilns
I spent several hours in the cold moving a light from one kiln to the next. My fingers went numb, but I had a blast. :)

This image capture wasn't on my shot list for this particular trip, but sometimes I get lucky.
This is still an image that makes me smile and remember the serendipitous moment of stopping just to take in a scene.

THANKFUL THURSDAY
I'm thankful for nights experimenting with light under the stars. PS -- there was no fire in the chimney... :) 1 flash, orange gel, aluminum foil, gaffer tape, remote trigger, and several hours spent dorking around with the settings. :)
@calparks
This photo always reminds me of the good people I have in my life. The kind of people who don't mind donning a wetsuit and fins to swim around the cold waters of Lake Tahoe shining a flashlight beneath the water so I can take the photo I envisioned. Good friends indeed. @calparks
To capture the deep, contrasty images of the Milky Way you need to venture far from the spread of light from cities and towns. I don't always have enough time to drive hours away when the bug bites me to go shoot the night sky.
@visitmorganhillca @calparks
You don't need to drive far to see some stars in the night sky. In the hills above Morgan Hill, California I took some time to appreciate the view. :)

FRIDAY VIBES
Here's to having the opportunity to spend quiet time watching the Earth spinning through space.
Take care everyone.

WIDER PERSPECTIVE
Yesterday was the closeup. Today is the wider perspective of the sun dancing across the lower portions of El Capitan.

BREAKING THROUGH
For a brief moment on an otherwise completely overcast day in the Valley, the light from the sun broke through to paint the lower portion of El Cap. In my excitement, I raced up the hill to find an angle I'd never seen.

REFLECTION OF HALF DOME
Don't be afraid to look at the world from a different angle.

YOSEMITE STORMS
Not knowing how the day was going to turn out I sat in place for hours letting the camera click away to capture the movement of the clouds over the Valley.
