BREAKING: GAUNTLET THROWN! Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear sends a formal letter to Mitch McConnell's office demanding an update on his health amidst rumors that the senator is braindead.

The cat is about to leap yowling out of the bag...

“Over the last several weeks, Kentuckians have grown increasingly concerned about the health and well-being of Sen. McConnell. I am requesting the Senator provide an update on his current health status," the letter reads.

Three weeks ago, McConnell was hospitalized after suffering a cardiac arrest and receiving CPR. Immediately after he was admitted, his wife Elaine Chao suspiciously flew straight to China to meet high-ranking CCP officials, stoking speculation that she was updating them on McConnell's possible demise.

Since then, independent reporters have suggested that McConnell is braindead, which would certainly track with the habit of bizarrely freezing up and falling that has been observed from the senator over the past year. His office has offered no real updates to his constituents.

“Allowing speculation to continue in the media is not fair to the Senator or to Kentuckians, and my hope is that this provides him the opportunity to share the information in a transparent manner, direct from the source,” wrote Beshear. “I wish him a safe and speedy recovery.”

If indeed McConnell is permanently incapacitated, Governor Beshear would appoint a replacement to fill his seat from a list of names provided by the state's Republican Party. A special election would then be held and some are already urging Congressman Thomas Massie, a sworn enemy of Donald Trump, to run.

Whatever the truth of the matter here, McConnell owes an explanation to the people of Kentucky. If he is alive and intends to return to his duties, it would be a simple matter to release a photo or video as proof of life. If the worst has befallen him, his office must immediately release that information so that the wheels of democracy may continue to turn.

NEW: Trump just lost another appeal over the removal of his name from the Kennedy Center.

The Guardian just reported that Trump mounted yet another pathetic attempt to restore his tacky name to our Kennedy Center — and he was smacked down in court yet again.

Is he tired of not winning yet?

"A US appeals court has ruled that the ⁠Trump administration cannot restore Donald Trump’s name to the facade of the Kennedy Center for the Performing ⁠Arts while ​he challenges a judge’s order that required its removal," The Guardian reported.

In December, Trump ordered his name be added to the facade of the iconic cultural arts building.

After that, its sign read: "The Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts."

It was insane and stupid, and Trump's attempts seize control of the Kennedy Center led to a rash of performer withdrawals and declining ticket sales.

In May, a judge ordered Trump's name removed from the Kennedy Center, a decision Trump fought up until workers arrived to pry his name from the facade last month — a preview of a time when we can erase his presence from every part of our democracy, one for which crowds gathered to watch.

Trump petulantly brought challenge after challenge, including a desperate last-minute attempt to hold the Center hostage via defunding.

As gleeful Americans waited on a summer Friday night to watch the removal, a livestream of the Center went viral, and workers erected tarps to conceal the facade.

Presumably at Trump's insistence, that tarp stayed up for quite a while, and still is seething that JFK is honored while he is not.

For his latest failed appeal, Trump argued that not re-adding his name would "contribute to the financial decline of the Center," a decline that only began when he put his tiny hands all over the institution.

An appeals court hilariously returned an order observing that Trump failed to support his claim "with ⁠any specific facts or evidence."

"The appeals court also said the administration ​was barred from ​asserting that a new entity ​called The Trump Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts ​Foundation will have ‌to return ​money if the ​president’s name is not returned to the facade," The Guardian added.

We are apparently still at war with Iran, the economy is in freefall, groceries cost more than mortgages used to, and we appear to have a Weekend At Bernie's situation on our hands with a missing Sen. Mitch McConnell — but Trump's biggest worry is whether his name stays on a building dedicated to the memory of a president who died in service to our nation.

Yes, Trump is a loser and a whiner, but one with dangerous power — we HAVE to kick the GOP to the curb this November.
