The world's richest centi-billionaire oligarch used his power to change the rules, so he could dump his garbage company (which is cartoonishly overvalued, unprofitable, and incinerating cash) on retail investors, using trillions of dollars in retirement funds as exit liquidity, all in order to become the first trillionaire.
This is the perfect metaphor for the US economy as a whole, which is entirely based on bubbles and scams.
@LucianFick@JRNorth1776@jayplemons@nytimes Wild speculation : the replacements on the list were neither women nor Black. Thus delivering the desired level of “cleansing”.
@Hemmerz_@BBCNews “The club who should have the biggest cause for complaint is Leeds, who have an overall score of -4. The Elland Road club are the only team not to have any kind of officiating mistake go for them.”

It’s wild that in Back to the Future (1985) the mall is called Twin Pines Mall, but after Marty knocks down one of the pines in 1955 and returns to 1985, it’s renamed Lone Pine Mall.
Such a small detail, perfectly executed.
“This DOJ wants to pretend it’s not doing exactly what all five administrations have done — protect sex trafficking network criminals. I have no reason to believe anyone in authority at the #DOJ will be truthful or diligent about doing their job.” #epstein#trump#truth
@JacobWest575301@Lawizzy470802 Yup. Debt still racking up interest, too. And people reckon English football is dodgy. . .
It would be nice if the deal included sell on and honours clauses, but I reckon Radz was more keen on cash right now rather than tomorrow.
@Fa5_Rios@Footballfan2310@433 In Raphinha’s case I understand the bulk or all of the outstanding cash is owed by Barca to a finance house, not lufc. I hope so. . .
FT Exclusive: Four months after its establishment, the organisation’s financial fund set up by the World Bank has received no money from donors, according to four people familiar with the matter. https://t.co/yzANaf2mVN
@The_Kitsman@UmbroBrasil That Japan shirt is the only real gem so far. But I do like the Pistols font on the back of the England one. Only 30 or so nations to go!
@SwedishRumble Leeds’ squad for 25/26 was more than 80% aged 23 to 29. A higher proportion of “primes” than even Arsenal. And without the budget or profile to hoover up potential wonderkids (who then hardly play) like Chelsea. Years 2 and 3 in their EPL project will see churn. Year 4 even more.
“£362m of Premier League distributions went to EFL clubs in 2025-26, or 12% of the amount [to] the 20 teams above them. Of that, £225m went to five clubs in parachute payments. That left just £137m [for] the other 67 clubs in England’s top four divisions.”
