We brought the troops in today to discuss 9/11. Almost 3/4 had no memory of the event, a few of the older ones shared their memories of the day. I highlighted some of the stories of incredible heroism of the day. That was my way of keeping the promise to never forget.

People making fun of you have never been put in an unexpected life-threatening situation. God forbid any of you experience something like this, but if you do you will be enlightened at how untrained people react. They freak out, they cry, they freeze, they lose their minds, and it’s all ok. That’s how untrained people should react. It is not normal to be calm and collected when something horrible happens in front of you. That’s why we have a trained cadre of first responders and the military.
