Robot Dreams is finally out and I can share some excerpts from my animatic work for the film!
Thanks to @JLAgreda and Pablo for the lovely experience, the three of us working together on the entire storyboard for a year and a half.
(Also: go see the movie!!!)
Did you know animating facial expressions could be this quick using Moho? No need for complex rigs, deformers or redrawings. Our talented friend @macagilart drew some expressions for us to demonstrate it!

What do you get when you lock up a director, an art director, and a storyboard artist together in a room for 18 months? You end up with 'Robot Dreams,' an animated feature that is unconventional in every way, including how it was storyboarded.

I love the way this film talks about loneliness and urban isolation. About the pain of being distanced from a friend.
I'm so happy I got to draw such nuanced body acting
Please give it a chance and see it if you haven't <3
To celebrate Robot Dreams getting nominated to the OSCARS (!!!) here's another bit of the animatic, from the beginning of the film.
The text in the ad used to say "looking for a friend?" and ended up being "are you lonely?" which I love because it hits you in the gut a lot more.
