The nation’s local reporters deserve another standing ovation in 2020. A pandemic crippled the industry and shuttered newsrooms, yet every day these reporters set out to document outbreaks and other wrongdoing in communities across the U.S. Here’s just some of what they found:
At Kitsap County’s three polling places, about 800 came through on both Saturday and Monday to register, get a new ballot, change their address or vote in-person, according to election officials.
Elections officials say it’s been pretty mellow this morning — lines inside have gotten up to 10-15 ppl at times, but folks are moving through quickly.
As of about 10 a.m., 65 people have been through, though that doesn’t include those who dropped off their ballot outside.

There are failures on so many levels tonight and in the last few months (and years & generations), but MPD only has itself to blame for a distrust so deep it felt it had to tweet video of a man taking his life.
