@WeWatchedAMovie@G_Reelz Scream has always been a place for new talent BUT this cycle isn’t remotely close to how 5/6 casting played out no matter how much you’re trying to convince yourself it is.
And the blame for that imo is very much the higher ups. Not officially announcing Courtney is very lazy
@WeWatchedAMovie@G_Reelz Well.. correct me if I’m wrong and I say this with no offense but you/others do seem to care since you seem to be getting defensive over the reaction to the new cast?
Just wanted to open the discussion more bc I don’t think it has anything to do with “new & young talent”
@WeWatchedAMovie@G_Reelz You can’t say it wouldn’t have been better to follow Neve with announcements from Courtney, Patrick, possibly Hayden and whoever else from the returning cast. and then do the new cast. Seems very backwards
@WeWatchedAMovie@G_Reelz And yet only Neve had an announcement. Courtney just got done saying she hasn’t seen a script and hasn’t signed on so I would think they would publicly correct that but they haven’t made any effort.
If the reaction to the new cast is underwhelming, they’re to blame
@G_Reelz@WeWatchedAMovie Keep in mind also, 5’s casting started with announcing Neve, David and Courtney back which at the time was definitely huge. It made it easier to digest once new names started to pop up
@G_Reelz@WeWatchedAMovie Scream always had a mix of named actors and new. The difference here is the fact they’re starting out with the new instead of making their big announcement first which bodes the question do they have anyone big
The big casting for 6 was Hayden’s return, Dermot, Samara weaving.
