March 31, 1998: On his way to 70 home runs, Mark McGwire, in his first Opening Day in St. Louis, cracks a 5th-inning grand slam off Los Angeles’ Ramon Martinez in a 6-0 Cardinals victory over the Dodgers in front of 47,972 fans at Busch Stadium II.
You don't have to apologize to any fans regardless of whom they root for. You're the best in business for a reason. Have fun doing the game as I'll be watching. @Buck#stl#anotherbuckforjack
Only doing this because I missed the “why do you hate the Yankees” shots on twitter (it was twitter then) and add the Brewers fans who think I don’t like Milwaukee or the Packers or cheese. Both sides are WRONG. Anyway, it’s gonna be fun. Can’t wait actually. Saddle up!
I'm excited about the Justin Timberlake - The Forget Tomorrow World Tour - Enterprise Center, Saint Louis, MO - Thu, Dec 19. Who's in? https://t.co/mCH7xgXi89
People sometimes don't understand how good someone was or is until sometimes it's too late. I was lucky enough to have understood Jack Buck & Whitey Herzog from the ground running. #legends#greats#stl
These are so great. They loved each other. Played cards together on every charter. It comes through. Whitey was a genius. And gave the Cards direction and a plan after the mess of the ‘70s. He also didn’t need a spread sheet to tell him if someone was a good ballplayer. If a team brought his style of baseball back now, defenses wouldn’t know what to do. Sad that he’s gone. His mark on the game will last a long time.
@stlsportscntrl@kodacohen I wish @Cardinals & the so called POBO would look at these responses & feel shame. But of course they are going to say "we don't look at social media". #bs It's not even fun being a fan anymore & I've been going for over 40 yrs.
