There is a lot to be said about Andy Burnham.

And there are plenty of people already leaping to defend him, usually by attacking anyone who dares point out the obvious.

Here’s the thing...

Burnham has not been parachuted in to be handed the highest office in the land to save the people or rescue the country.

He has been brought in because the Labour Party machine has shifted up a gear in an attempt to save itself.

They are hoping the public will look more kindly on a different face, as if Starmer alone caused Labour’s collapse in support.

He didn’t...

Starmer was the face of bad policy, poor government, donor politics, managed slogans and contempt for the people. Changing the face will not change the direction.

And that is the real insult.

Labour has over 400 MPs. A supermajority. A whole parliamentary party supposedly ready to govern. Yet when the machine needed a replacement, it had to ship in a substitute from the old Blairite days.

Not one of them had the ability, authority or confidence to take up the challenge.

That is not renewal.

That's panic...

As for Burnham, for those of us that have no longer tied our self to Labour’s mast,
you don’t have to dig very deep to find the real Andy Burnham.

He is not some insurgent socialist waiting in the wings. He is a dyed-in-the-wool Blairite, a career politician forged in the New Labour machine.

Before Parliament, he worked as a researcher and special adviser. In government, he served under Blair and Brown. As an MP, he backed the Iraq War in 2003.

As Health Secretary, he inherited and defended a system already riddled with New Labour’s love affair with marketisation, targets, outsourcing and PFI-style thinking. That is the political soil he grew out of.

So let’s stop pretending Burnham represents a clean break from Starmerism.

He's not the antidote. He's the earlier variant.

A smoother voice, a better regional accent, a bit more warmth on camera, but still the same basic politics: manage decline, praise “partnership” with the private sector, keep the donor class calm, and call it change.

If Labour replaces Starmer with Burnham and expects the country to mistake it for renewal, they are insulting people’s intelligence.

Lough Neagh is the largest lake in the British Isles. It supplies more than two-fifths of Northern Ireland's drinking water. And for three summers running it has been too poisonous to touch.

The whole lake turns a livid, paint-thick green, smothered under toxic blue-green algae. Bathing signs line all seventy-eight miles of shore. Dogs that drank at the edge fell sick. Europe's largest eel fishery, worked for centuries, was shut down. Scientists pulled the scum apart and found it teeming with hazardous bacteria, E. coli and salmonella among them, plus a toxin never before recorded on the island of Ireland. And they are still drawing drinking water out of it.

The lake is now classed hypereutrophic, the worst grade of nutrient pollution there is. The poison is phosphorus, which feeds algae like rocket fuel, and the official figures lay around 62% of it at the door of agriculture, with roughly another quarter from sewage.

None of this was a mystery. A field grazed at a sensible rate hands its nutrients back to the soil that fed it. Cram in far more animals and far more chemical fertiliser than the ground can absorb, and the surplus pours off into the rivers and down into the lough. Northern Ireland runs that phosphorus surplus year after year, because a government growth strategy told farmers to expand and keep expanding. Campaigners warned for decades exactly where it would end. They were met with shrugs.

So the largest lake in these islands was knowingly fed to death to chase agri-food output, and a warming climate and an invasive mussel finished what the slurry started.

The cruelty is the timeline. Stop every drop of pollution tomorrow, and the phosphorus already buried in the sediment will keep the blooms coming for up to forty years.

A lake ten thousand years in the making, wrecked in a single generation, and the people who run it are still pulling the tap water out of the green.

Disabled people on walking aids face attacks from dogs and abuse from their owners who seen unperturbed that their dogs are free to roam off their lead and cause harm or threaten other people and animals. They don’t even pick up their dogs’ poop and dispose of it properly!

Every spring, dogs out for a walk kill thousands of pounds' worth of other people's livestock, and most of the owners simply carry on walking.

In 2025 farm animals worth an estimated 1.95 million pounds were savaged or killed by dogs across the UK, up 10% on the year before. The National Sheep Association found that 87% of the sheep farmers it surveyed had had their flock attacked in the previous twelve months. For most of them it has stopped being a freak event and become an annual tax paid in blood, levied by other people's pets.

A dog does not even have to bite. The chase alone is enough to run a heavily pregnant ewe into aborting her lambs, or to scatter a flock so badly that the youngest are separated from their mothers and left to starve.

And the owners largely know what they are letting loose. Around 57% let their dogs off the lead in the countryside. One in ten admit the animal has no recall at all. One in twenty admit their dog has already chased livestock, and nearly three quarters take no steps whatsoever to stop it happening again. Nearly two thirds flatly refuse to believe their pet could ever harm a sheep, right up until it does.

The contempt does not stop at the field gate. When a farmer walks over and asks, politely, for a dog to be put on a lead, eighty percent of them report a hostile response, and just under half have been verbally abused, some even physically threatened, for the crime of protecting their own animals on their own land. More than half of attacks now happen in private fields with no footpath at all, which means the dog, and very often the owner, had no business being there in the first place.

And when it goes wrong, the owner is rarely the one left holding it. In more than four cases out of ten the farmer never sees the attack, and simply finds the evidence at first light. Torn ewes that have to be put down, dead lambs in the grass, a vet called out, and an owner who, more often than not, was long gone and said nothing.

A field of sheep is a workplace, whatever it looks like from the footpath. The ewe lying in the grass with her throat open was somebody's whole year of work, killed by an animal its owner swore was harmless, walked by a person who could not be bothered to clip on a lead.

Across Britain right now, farmers are shearing their sheep, bagging up the wool, and burning it. Some bury it. Some leave it to rot in a corner of the field. The wool-burning has made the odd headline as a protest, but the truth is duller and sadder. The fleece is worth less than the diesel it would take to haul it to the depot.

The numbers are grim. In recent years a kilo of British wool has fetched somewhere between twenty and sixty pence, and hill breeds like Swaledale and Welsh Mountain sank as low as ten. A whole fleece off a mountain ewe might bring thirty pence. Shearing that same ewe costs the farmer around two pounds. One Lincolnshire farmer added it up out loud: over three pounds to shear and cart a single fleece to the depot, and twenty-six pence back. So she burns them. A great many do.

Here is the part that stings. The shearing still has to happen, every year, whatever the wool will fetch. A sheep left in full fleece overheats, struggles to move, and gets eaten alive by maggots. So the job carries on purely as welfare, a cost the farmer simply eats to spare the animal, with the wool itself going on the fire straight after.

And think about what this fibre once was. For centuries wool was the engine of the English economy, the country's greatest export and the crown's main source of tax. It raised the soaring wool churches of the Cotswolds. It turned merchants into princes. To this day, whoever presides over the House of Lords sits on the Woolsack, a literal cushion of wool, put there in the fourteenth century so nobody would forget where the nation's wealth began.

Prices have lifted off the floor this past year, the first real relief in a long while. It still does not cover the shears for a hill farmer. The fibre that built England now smoulders in a heap behind the barn, and almost nobody notices the smoke.

BREAKING: Activists unveil Marwan Barghouti statue in Parliament Square

Today, activists unveiled a new statue of Marwan Barghouti in Parliament Square, but were then intercepted by police.

Marwan Barghouti has been imprisoned by Israel for 24 years, 1 month and 19 days for crimes he did not commit. He was convicted by a court he did not recognise in a trial widely criticised by legal experts and human rights observers.

A sitting Palestinian parliamentarian at the time of his arrest, he remains, more than two decades later, the most popular choice for Palestinian leadership in opinion polls.

Often called ‘Palestine’s Mandela’, he is a powerful symbol of hope and a long-time advocate for freedom and dignity for the Palestinian people.

Nelson Mandela was once politically isolated and labelled a terror*st before being recognised as a global symbol of freedom and justice. Marwan Barghouti faces a similar fate.

The statue may not stand in Parliament Square yet, but we know this is a just cause. One day, Marwan will take his rightful place alongside other civil rights leaders.

The world watches while genocide gets a makeover

Darlings, let me take you to the desert — not the biblical one, the one with air-conditioned tents, gold-plated microphones, and egos inflated to stratospheric dimensions.

Sharm el-Sheikh — the oasis of mirages. This time, it hosted a tragicomedy so grotesque it could make Machiavelli blush.

The so-called “Peace Summit.” Oh yes, peace. The kind that comes wrapped in hypocrisy, tied with a ribbon of deceit, and spritzed with eau de genocide.

Picture it: our self-anointed “Stable Genius” — Doni Baby himself — perched at the head of a long, gleaming table like a bloated Caesar after too much fast food diplomacy.

His orange glow brighter than the desert sun, his grin stretching from Sinai to Tel Aviv. Around him — a glittering parade of despots, vassals, Zionist stooges, and half-baked monarchs in designer robes.

A gathering of the morally bankrupt, applauding each other for a “historic peace” while the ink of Palestinian blood still stains the sand.

They called it peace. I call it a necrophiliac love affair with the corpse of justice.

The day was drenched in pomp, platitudes, and pleasantries. The kind only tyrants exchange before stabbing each other in the back.

Kings, diplomats, and PR puppets indulged in what can only be described as verbal masturbation — moaning words like “unity,” “security,” (Israels of course) and “progress” into the microphones as Doni Baby preened like a peacock on a power trip.

“Peace has come to the Middle East!” he shrieked. “Nobody’s ever seen anything like it!”

Of course not, darling. Nobody’s ever seen a man brag about peace while enabling genocide either — but here we are.

Then came the grand declaration: “The 3,000-year war has come to an end!” screamed Doni Baby, his voice wobbling with the thrill of self-love.

The despots clapped, the vassals nodded, and the stooges — bless their bought souls — bowed their heads in worship.

No one dared mention that the only thing ending was Palestinian hope.

Because while Doni Baby basks in the flashbulbs, he conveniently forgets his part in the carnage — the ethnic cleansing, the silence as bombs fell on Gaza, the “deal of the century” that was nothing more than a death sentence signed with arrogance.

This same “genius” — just weeks ago — was peddling his latest real estate fantasy: the Gaza Riviera.

Picture it — Palestinians deported to some godforsaken desert, while Gaza Riviera built complete with luxury resorts for billionaires who want to sip cocktails where children once starved.

Doni Baby calls it vision. The rest of the world calls it psychosis.

But oh, the irony! The only reason this golden farce of “peace” even happened was because the heroic people of Gaza — bloodied but unbowed — refused to vanish.

Because ordinary people, from New York to Nairobi, finally screamed “ENOUGH.” It wasn’t "diplomacy" that stopped the bombs. It was humanity. And Doni Baby hates competition.

Of course, the “peace” won’t last longer than his next spray tan. The plan, dears, is simple: get the hostages, pose for photos, then let Israel’s savage president resume the slaughter with fresh excuses and cleaner headlines.

And when the inevitable massacre comes, guess who gets the blame? Not the butchers, not the warmongers, not the Zionist puppeteers — but Hamas, the eternal scapegoat of this blood-soaked theater.

And so, the Palestinian people will go on suffering — starved, bombed, caged — while the UN and its chorus of "moral" eunuchs perform their 77-year-old ballet of condemnation and inaction.

The “international community” will talk, wring their manicured hands, and issue statements that change nothing.

And Doni Baby will beam, proud as ever, declaring, “Voila! Peace!”

Yes, darlings — peace à la Trump:

No freedom.
No dignity.
No food.
No home.
No Palestine.

Just one more photo op in the desert of shame.

Iran, now refusing to release its chokehold over the Strait of Hormuz and the global supply of oil, is demanding that the price of an agreement include an end to US backing for the Israeli-directed horror show in the Middle East.

Like a spoiled toddler, Trump is thrashing around – while cashing in on the volatility of the oil markets – trying to impose the old rules, when the terms of the confrontation are no longer under his exclusive control.

His latest tantrum – one cooked up in Tel Aviv as much as Washington – is that most Arab states, including Iran’s neighbours in the Gulf, be forced to sign the so-called Abraham Accords with Israel. This is being presented as the framework for a regional “peace deal” involving Iran. In truth, it is the very opposite.

The accords are designed to cement Israel’s status as the Middle East’s top dog, subordinating Arab states’ interests to Israel’s, and thereby isolating Iran in the region and leaving the Palestinian people and Lebanon to a genocidal Israel’s mercy.

This is another swindle, like Trump’s “Board of Peace”, which dresses up US and Israeli criminal aggression and genocide as peacemaking.

What the past 20 years of lies and misdirections have sought to hide is a simple fact: it is not Tehran that is led by unhinged, genocidal megalomaniacs threatening the security of the region and the world. It is Tel Aviv and Washington.

Since the pair launched their criminal war of aggression against Iran three months ago, Tehran has shown restraint, acted with caution, and displayed a willingness to negotiate in good faith.

Too bad there are no responsible adults on the other side with whom it can make a deal.

Tony Blair is the living embodiment of what happens when political office becomes a down payment on future plunder. Then came Blair’s real innovation: the financialisation of the ex-premiership itself. The Tony Blair Institute, fuelled by £130 million from Oracle's Larry Ellison—coincidentally, the largest individual donor to the Friends of the IDF—became a shadow state, brokering governance contracts for autocrats and companies like Palantir that weaponise AI to produce mega-death abroad and full-on surveillance of Western populations.

Now, in May 2026, this corporate fixer issues a 5700 word tantrum demanding that Labour embrace Trump even more than Starmer already has, denounce what is left of Labour’s betrayed Green New Deal, and trash the remnants of workers' rights. This is not the wisdom of an aging statesman. It is the frantic squirming of a man fearing his grip on oligarchic power might soon wane and whose entire post-10 Downing Street existence depends on preventing the many from ever reclaiming what the few have plundered.

Both Pope Leo and Anthropic are firmly on the side of humanity and human rights protections from autonomous weapons being used in the wrong hands. The US and Israel are prime examples of use of autonomous weapons in Gaza that have little or no oversight!

Anthropic just turned the Pope into a legal weapon against the Pentagon.

Yesterday Pope Leo XIV published a 245-paragraph document demanding that AI companies be "disarmed" and that autonomous weapons be permanently banned.

He compared Silicon Valley's unchecked ambition to the Tower of Babel and called the exploitation behind AI development "new forms of slavery."

Everyone posted about it but nobody noticed WHO was sitting next to him:

Christopher Olah, co-founder of Anthropic, was seated in a row of cardinals at the Vatican to personally present this document alongside the Pope. A 33yo atheist tech billionaire standing next to the leader of 1.4 billion Catholics telling the world that AI weapons must be stopped.

This matters because of what's happening in a courtroom right now:

Anthropic has been locked in a legal war with the Trump administration since February. The Pentagon blacklisted them as a "supply chain risk to national security" after Anthropic refused to let the military use their AI for two things: Fully autonomous weapons and mass surveillance of American citizens.

That designation is usually reserved for companies linked to foreign adversaries like China and Russia. But they used it on an American company because that company said no.

The Trump administration called Anthropic "liberal-leaning" and accused them of trying to dictate military policy.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth personally signed the blacklist order and Trump directed every federal agency to stop using Anthropic's technology.

Over 100 enterprise customers called Anthropic asking if they were safe to work with.

The company estimates the government's actions could cost them multiple billions in lost 2026 revenue.

Anthropic obviously sued. Two separate lawsuits in two courts.

A San Francisco judge ruled in their favor and blocked the supply chain designation but the DC appeals court ruled against them. The two courts are in direct contradiction right now.

And a few days ago, the DC appeals court heard oral arguments in the case. Judges were visibly divided.

On May 25, the Pope published a document that validates Anthropic's exact legal position on autonomous weapons. Word for word.

The Pope wrote: "It is not permissible to entrust lethal or otherwise irreversible decisions to artificial systems." That is essentially the SAME sentence Anthropic put in their Pentagon contract that started this entire fight.

And Anthropic's co-founder also spoke at the Vatican event:

He told the audience "every frontier AI lab operates inside incentives that can sometimes conflict with doing the right thing" and called for "moral voices that the incentives cannot bend."

A co-founder of an AI company publicly admitted at the Vatican that AI companies CANNOT be trusted to regulate themselves...

This is literally a legal strategy by Anthropic.

Anthropic now has the most powerful moral authority on the planet publicly endorsing the exact ethical position that the Pentagon punished them for. Every judge reviewing this case watched the Pope validate the two red lines Anthropic drew.

The Pope's encyclical will almost certainly be cited in court filings.

The Pentagon's argument is that a private company cannot dictate how the government uses AI in matters of national security. Anthropic's argument is that certain uses of AI are fundamentally unethical regardless of who's deploying them.

Yesterday the Pope told 1.4 billion people that Anthropic is right.

The appeals court could rule any day now. If Anthropic wins, every AI company in the world gets legal precedent to refuse military contracts on ethical grounds.

If they lose, the message to Silicon Valley is clear: Build what the government tells you to build or get destroyed.

Either way, the company Trump tried to crush literally just turned the Vatican into their ally.

HE KNEW THE DOSSIER WAS FAKE. WEEKS LATER HE WAS DEAD IN A FIELD

Dr David Kelly was Britain's foremost weapons inspector. He spent years inspecting Iraqi facilities, earned a Nobel Peace Prize nomination, and knew more about Saddam's arsenal than almost anyone in government.

In 2002, Tony Blair's government published a dossier claiming Iraq could deploy chemical and biological weapons within 45 minutes. Britain went to war on the back of it. No weapons were ever found.

Kelly knew the dossier was rubbish. He said so, quietly, to a @BBC journalist. That conversation ended his career, his privacy, and ultimately his life.

The MOD carefully allowed his name to leak to the press as the BBC's source. He was then hauled before parliamentary committees, stripped apart by his own employer, and thrown to a media frenzy he never asked for.

Two days after giving evidence to MPs, the 59-year-old was found dead in woodland near his Oxfordshire home.

Instead of a proper inquest, Tony Blair asked Lord Hutton to run a private inquiry. Hutton concluded suicide. The inquest was opened, then suspended, and never resumed.

Eight senior legal and medical figures, including a coroner, later wrote to @thetimes saying the verdict was unsafe. They argued the wound found on Kelly's wrist, a severed ulnar artery, would not have caused sufficient blood loss to kill a healthy person.

There were no fingerprints on the knife found beside his body, even though he was not wearing gloves.

In 2011, Attorney General Dominic Grieve rejected all calls for a new inquest. He said the Hutton Inquiry was "tantamount to an inquest" and that further investigation would be dismissed by judges with irritation.

A man challenged the government's justification for a war that killed hundreds of thousands of people. He was publicly destroyed, died in mysterious circumstances, never got a proper inquest, and the people who sent him into that media storm faced no consequences whatsoever.

Tony Blair became a Middle East Peace Envoy the following year. You genuinely could not make it up.

The jewish Marks, Sieff and Sacher Families (Marks & Spencer Dynasty) were the primary architects of the economic and institutional pro-'israel' network in the UK.

After they ousted the son of English co-founder Thomas Spencer from the company, they used their wealth to fund 'israel's' development and the IOF.

They were tightly interwoven through marriage: Israel Sieff and Harry Sacher married the sisters of Simon Marks—son of M&S co-founder and Polish immigrant Michael Marks—Rebecca and Miriam, respectively. Together, they formed the core of the 'Manchester School of Zionism' and:

- Acted as the primary handlers and aides to Chaim Weizmann, the Russian jew who went on to become 'israel's' first president.

- Built the political machinery that lobbied the British War Cabinet, directly resulting in the 1917 Balfour Declaration.

- Created a London headquarters at Great Russell Street, noted by historians as the physical 'heart of the UK's pro-'israel' lobby'.

After the Nakba in 1948, they systematically worked to repair the diplomatic damage left by the jewish terror on Britain during the Palestine Mandate by leveraging the immense economic clout of Marks & Spencer.
