🌿🔥 FIRE CIDER 🔥🌿
Fire cider is a traditional herbal vinegar tonic made by infusing apple cider vinegar with ingredients like garlic, ginger, onion, horseradish, citrus, and hot peppers. It’s been enjoyed for generations as a bold, warming addition to a from-scratch kitchen.
It’s spicy, tangy, savory, and incredibly easy to make at home!
🌿 Homemade Fire Cider
Ingredients:
• 2 cups raw apple cider vinegar
• ½ cup fresh ginger, sliced
• ½ cup fresh horseradish, grated
• ½ cup onion, chopped
• ½ cup garlic cloves, crushed
• 1–2 jalapeños or other hot peppers, sliced
• 1 lemon, sliced
• 1 orange, sliced
• 1 cinnamon stick
• 1–2 tablespoons fresh rosemary
• 1–2 tablespoons raw honey, added after straining
Directions:
Add the ginger, horseradish, onion, garlic, peppers, lemon, orange, cinnamon, and rosemary to a clean glass jar.
Pour the apple cider vinegar over everything until completely covered.
Seal the jar. If using a metal lid, place parchment paper underneath the lid to keep the vinegar from touching the metal.
Store in a cool, dark place for 3–4 weeks, giving the jar a gentle shake every day or two.
Strain the mixture through cheesecloth or a fine strainer, pressing out as much liquid as possible.
Stir in raw honey to taste.
Store your finished fire cider in a clean glass bottle or jar in the refrigerator.
🔥 Tip: Adjust the peppers, ginger, horseradish, and honey to make it as fiery or mild as you like!
Fire cider is one more way to get creative with simple ingredients and make something from scratch right in your own kitchen.
