@TheKratomAssn The Oregon Senate today voted 26-2 to approve the Kratom Consumer Protection Act. The House had previously voted 49-0 for the KCPA. The KCPA will now be sent to the Governor for her signature, and when signed Oregon will be the 6th state to enact the KCPA!
Former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb frequently touted that kratom was illegal in Thailand. Well, that is no longer true. The truth about kratom is being recognized by most -- except for the FDA. https://t.co/kS3dIM36tR

@loislgilpin This is a project with a leading research firm in partnership with AKA that will be used to bolster our case to public officials about the value of kratom to consumers in the context of the current opioid crisis. Everyone is encouraged to participate.
@KratomFact Our enemy is not the news media. It is the media machine at the FDA that is funded by taxpayers. The source of the inaccurate, distorted, and false information being pumped into social media channels and official government agencies at all government levels is the FDA. Blame them
The Trump Administration just eased access to chronic disease treatments to help patients maintain access to treatments. This makes FDA the outlier as they block consumer access to kratom for those suffering from acute and chronic pain. https://t.co/i9I0IhNV8q
The AKA got it right in calling the FDA's attack on kratom an "Echo Chamber." The proof of that is in the Eggleston et al. paper that relies almost exclusively on the FDA "Echo Chamber" distortions. Dr. Jack Henningfield sets the record straight. https://t.co/DujXA023jP
The Washington Post pierced the government secrecy on opioid prescriptions and issued the scathing report on the truth about a crisis enabled by the FDA. And the FDA continues its war on kratom that provides a real harm-reduction option. https://t.co/6C53OOtVT9
@Kittywampus@MarcSwogger@BeachSearcher@stapf You are absolutely correct, and that is why the AKA has a very robust PR campaign to support the advocacy effort. Despite Mr. Stapf’s false claim that there is no PR effort from AKA, the truth is the FDA has huge resources in manpower money they commit to demonize kratom.
@Kittywampus@MarcSwogger@BeachSearcher@stapf The vote margins were impressive. The "sky is falling" argument offered by Mr. Stapf, justifying his ham-handed abuse of the relationships with scientists who value their independence, and false claims of attempting to coordinate with AKA add up bad news for the kratom community.
@Kittywampus@MarcSwogger@BeachSearcher@stapf No, my point was that these legislators understand that the media can be heavily biased, and the negative press does not result in the outcome Mr. Stapf argues that it does. Despite the 92% bad press, signed bills in Utah, Georgia, and Arizona. That is the strong argument.
@stapf@BeachSearcher@MarcSwogger All kratom advocates should beware of this group that Mr. Stapf is running from this PR firm. It is not affiliated with the AKA. The AKA would never have compromised the relationships with key scientists who are essential to preserving and protecting consumer access to kratom.
@stapf@BeachSearcher@MarcSwogger What the AKA does not do is blindside the scientists who are critically needed to win the battle the FDA. The AKA has chosen to put limited donor funds where it makes a difference in getting laws passed to protect consumers.
