Our appeal to @ukcmo @pushkardhami — once the yatra ends, the diversion should be lifted immediately, not left in place for days, forcing people to risk their lives.

People were crossing the road without looking, vehicles were coming at high speed, and blind spots at every turn meant a head-on collision could have happened any second.

yet the police kept insisting, “risky nahi hai, 8-9 km manage kar lo” (it’s not risky, just manage for 8-9 km). We weren’t out for a joyride. We were rushing because a friend’s father was critically ill — and instead of urgency, we got put in danger ourselves.
