Third, the discovery that these same gusts were powerful enough to knock down a tree, blocking all the lanes of a freeway. Thankfully, it looked like everyone was safe. (Also, I managed to push my motorcycle through the open area)

This morning's motorcycle commute in 3 parts: First, the weather report where I saw that the rain was mostly done and that the wind was only 28 mph. Unfortunately, I did not pay much attention to the "gusts up to 54 mph" part. #foreshadowing

Second, my heart rate as I became intimately aware of the fact that the aforementioned 54 mph gusts were sufficient to propel my motorcycle and me involuntarily to another lane on the freeway
