Lindsay Graham's death will likely produce the largest funeral procession in the history of humanity, dwarfing even that of the assassinated Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
What happens if and after the empire falls? For many this war against the empire is painted in broader strokes than simply American imperialism. It's one thing that the United States wages war on indigenous peoples all over the planet, appropriates their resources, and enslaves their labour. It's the only way that capitalism can be profitable. But what about the micro? I think that many of us feel that technology is being instrumentalized toward more Orwellian measures of control, and even then maybe Orwell is tame in contrast to what is peering at us just off the horizon. AI and data centres *will* be used to subdue us in eternity should they come to manifest in the manner they're being envisioned today ... such that we can never fight back against any tyranny. And the shape of the world from then on will be dictated principally by the will of its rulers. So let's say Iran wins this war, and let's say Russia wins this war, and let us say that the empire falls. Then what? Do we awaken to a world where human freedom and dignity is prioritized, or one in which the newly birthed multipolar world seeks to secure its permanence in much the same way the capitalist West is attempting to do today? Is the technological dystopia inevitable? Are we doomed to servitude, no different than cattle? If Marx's spirit were to rise from its grave and by divine will people the world round realize the common chains which bound them so, and they decide to revolt and succeed as such, what kind of world would they want? What kind of world would *we* want? Perhaps it is our nature to want an equitable, just, and dignified existence, but that it is also our nature to fear losing what little freedoms we have accrued for ourselves, such that we inevitably prioritize ourselves over others. Maybe the terrible truth about mankind is his paradoxical will ... I do hope the empire falls, nonetheless. It has shown itself to be ruthless and has stripped humanity to the bone and left nothing but malignancy and corruption in its wake. I will take my chances with whatever comes next.
@RezaNasri1 I think people are celebrating his death too soon. Collectively we're slow to the lessons. I'll wait and see who replaces him both in the interim and after the midterms before considering this momentum in the right direction.
I sometimes go an entire week without checking the news. I don't need to. Because I told you months ago the US would establish a blockade and not leave. And this proved to be true. Their strategy is quite the stroke of genius. Most still can't grasp what has happened.
Everyone celebrating Graham's death may be jumping the gun. Wait to see who takes his seat in November. Graham was a terrible person, but there are those who are worse.
It's just too much of a coincidence that Lindsay Graham died in the final run up to the elections. There's foul play. Someone wants his seat to change asses.
