1 - makes the diagnosis, gets consult / transfer started. Exam not always a slam dunk

2 - allows cognitive offload

3 - dx recurrent obstruction w benign exam and labs, avoid inferior KUB or n+1 CT

POCUS happens quickly during hx

1,2,3 improve pt flow

@ResaELewiss @EmteeUs @FMaeWestMD @A_Lex_00 I think TEE in arrest will be standard in academic EDs in US/Can within the next decade. Uptake in community will be slower for the usual reasons + you need 2 people - one to run code, one for TEE.

Don’t know enough about EMS w doc on board model to know if it makes sense.
