Eeeh, Zaraz is practically dead. Hasn't been touched in any meaningful way since 2024 except for a weird name change. The community around it (myself included) has largely given up. It desperately needs major maintenance to the managed components/integrations and really the whole core could really use a refactor imo making it durable object-based (which could unlock a lot of capabilities). Right now it doesn't really deliver on the promise of server side first analytics integrations, the MCs are very outdated, and the architecture never got meaningfully iterated on beyond v1.
@eastdakota Great read. Drucker (and Deming) should be essential reading for anyone in business. It's easy to dismiss their work as just old dead guys talking about outdated experiences and ideas, thinking, "What do they know in 2026?" But the answer is, well, quite a lot, actually.
𧑠to all those impacted by the Cloudflare layoffs.
Whether you start the day tomorrow looking for what's next or looking to see who was impacted, the developer community supports you.
Wishing everyone affected the best in whatever comes next.
Overall anything you can do is apart of a layered defense strategy. Can any one thing be gotten around? Yeah probably. But a bunch of reasonable little things creates a pretty effective defense. But you're right, what makes sense is dependent on your threat profile. What is overkill for most may be vital for others.
GitHub is once again having issues today. I get it. Scale is hard and more code than ever is being written but they're starting to become a real risk / bottleneck.
@monarch_money Doesn't make sense right now imo but hopeful for more small business / self employment features in the future. I'd love to be able to replace quickbooks self employed.
@dok2001 Better support for government use cases.
And/or being more open about what capabilities are available within those constraints. Without getting in some sort of sales pipeline there's hardly any solid info outside of some old press releases.
Had a great time this week at CodeStock #CodeStock2026 conference this week in Knoxville! Thank you for the opportunity to speak! Looking forward to next year.
