A first for me yesterday. Volunteered to help out at the Showdown league match between East of England Showdown and Sussex Spitfire Showdown Team. Got the chance to do some match coaching. Also did some refereeing, makes you concentrate as it is such a fast moving game at times.
So I have been volunteering and coaching at a couple of different for a couple of months. Goalball and Showdown. Two very different sports but both for blind and partially blind athletes. Still lots to learn but a lot of fun.
@kekerso@LucyTCWife So it was alright for the protesters to throw bricks, wheelie bins and anything else at the police and expect there not to be some reaction. 2 wrongs don't make a right but violence tends to breed violence.
The allotment is coming along nicely. Pods now showing on the peas. Flowers on the tomatoe plants and blueberries now forming. Potatoes doing there usual growing.
We have been eating the lettuce and Spinach. And have also been doing so weeding and tidying up.
Went out a bit earlier than normal today to avoid the heat of the day, and failed. Never mind, another 7.5 miles today plus 2 litres of water.
Lovely walk in the countryside and enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Out and enjoying the great weather. A sunny Sunday trip to Wimple Hall and grounds. Just the odd 6.5 miles around the place. Definitely need some light refreshments now.
@chinnychick I joined up at 16 and completed 23yrs in the Royal Engineers, it gave me a career and big life lessons that I would not have got anywhere else. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
The growing continues to go well. The leaf salads are ready to be eaten. Strawberries are starting to show & the potatoes are making rapid progress. Even the chard & carrots seem to have picked up.
The tomatoes are a bit slow, hopefully they will pick up with all this rain & sun.
Things are really starting to develop in the allotment with most things growing well. Certainly the Pea, Potatoes, Lettuce, Beetroot and Spinach are doing well. Lots of weeding needs doing now.
@longbangers Chaiwa and Rocky were excellent this afternoon. But yet another red card put us straight onto the back foot. The ill discipline has cost us in the last 3 games. Although we should have defended better as both goals were avoidable.
Well all this sun and rain means that things are now growing in the allotment. The peas and potatoes are definitely coming along nicely. Planted some carrots and chard today as well. Let's see how they get in.
