@NotDerek666 That shows how little you know about grade progression in resident drs. After 2 foundation yrs, progression requires passing of stringent post grad exams. Service provision is for the benefit of NHS, can be useful experience but delays dr progression to becoming a specialist.
James Murray does not want to change Streeting’s approach to NHS esp drs pay restoration as he is busy thinking about his next job under a new leader…dare not solve that problem in case Streeting is that new leader.
Rather than breaking the cycle of conflict, James Murray seems content to continue it, risking further disruption for patients and staff.
Focusing only on recent pay rises overlooks long-term concerns about pay erosion, retention and career progression.

Indeed! How you can complete a course in so called ‘advanced’ clinical practice without first learning the basics of clinical practice makes no sense whatsoever. Then to be irresponsibly employed as equivalent to a middle grade dr is creating unnecessary danger to patients.
@PhilipSteart@Oxfordite@VincentVanGrump@parthaskar They are in the guise of the base profession, but neither has a designated register section for 'advanced practice', nor any major intellectual curiosity about it. I'd be fascinated to read an NMC case regarding an ED ACP to understand how - if at all - it would be addressed.
@NotDerek666 Res.drs advance in their work & pay grades with experience & post grad exams. The point is that dr pay grades have fallen behind & a newly graduated dr is paid far less than a newly qualified Physician assistant who is much less useful in terms of patient care.
@J1603Kevin It is not 2 tier policing. Some of the less smart members of the police may have misinterpreted instructions about dealing with different cultures etc but most of them are not that stupid and this particular episode was purely lazy, incompetent police work.
It’s not an example of 2tier policing but is an example of poor policing. Just accepting what was said in initial tel call is lazy &wrong. They should 100% have checked out the obviously injured person esp as he said he had been stabbed & couldn’t breathe. Handcuffs inappropriate!
@Keir_Starmer The only question to answer is why did officers primed that they were attending a racist incident, not pay due care to establishing facts 🤔
This is #TwoTierPolicing in action.
But you'd probably not see that through your ideological prism.
@J1603Kevin The initial attack was racially motivated but irresponsible Farage &the protests accused police of bias towards non whites which is nonsense.Police are sometimes possibly trying too hard to get rid of the complaints re them being institutionally racist.
Reducing A&E visits isn't just about sharing data.
A&E is overwhelmed because of staff shortages, long waits and poor access to GPs.
Better data won't magically create more doctors, nurses or hospital beds.

This feels less like modernisation and more like centralising power.
Strengthening regulatory powers without matching accountability doesn’t feel like progress.
Independent tribunals are there to provide oversight, not be second-guessed by the regulator.

The people making decisions from offices are nowhere near the reality of frontline care.
They set targets, launch schemes, and demand results, then act surprised when overstretched services can't cope.
And older patients are paying the price..

@J1603Kevin But the implication is that is racial in origin…that is what Farage & those idiots demonstrating are suggesting, because it suits their own divisive ideas & they couldn’t really care less about Henry Nowak or his family. If they did they would have listened to his father’s wishes.
@J1603Kevin There’s nothing suggesting Henry treated as second class citizen, however much you want to suggest that! It was lazy, incompetent policing, despite no pressure on police at the incident, such as difficult crowd.Female officer better,I think
said need to check Henry re stab wounds.
I hope this is an error on the job advert.
PAs are dependent practitioners. They should not be seeing patients independently. They should not be first assist in surgery or performing LPs.
Patients deserve safe quality care. @IMO_IRL please look into this
@cbehaviourist@JatinderHayre_ Killing quality and standards of care in the NHS and as a result increasing avoidable deaths. Designed originally to reduce cost of NHS but no evidence that is happening and no evidence of cost effectiveness of these poorly thought out changes.
It is not that your GP knows nothing about eyes! A GP can diagnose many problems using an ophthalmoscope but the equipment required to examine eyes fully is normally only available in Opticians and Ophthalmology depts and is not normally available in GP practices.
@WalkerMarcus Agreed!! Never see GPs for eyes or teeth. They know nothing. When I had eye problems in Valencia I phoned my optician in Bexhill. He told me to go straight to A and E. My torn retina was promptly lazered. The white bit is where it was lazered! So clever .
Valuing doctors and paying them appropriately for what we do and the responsibity we take on shouldn't be controversial.
This government, like the previous, only understands one language: strikes. Tell them again.
