Your suffering does not have to be wasted.
The headache. The sleepless night. The illness. The exhaustion. The humiliation. The sacrifice no one sees.
Unite it to the sufferings of Christ and offer it for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
St. John Chrysostom urged Christians to offer prayers for the dead, asking, “Why would we doubt that our offerings for the dead bring them some consolation?”
St. Padre Pio said, “We must empty Purgatory with our prayers.”
And St. Alphonsus Liguori taught that when these souls enter Heaven, they will remember those who helped them.
Imagine reaching Heaven and being met by souls you helped through your hidden sufferings and prayers.
They will know the charity you showed them. St. Alphonsus taught that they would not forget their benefactors, but would pray for them.
Offer your crosses for the Holy Souls.
A suffering endured with love can become an act of charity with eternal consequences.
Help them reach Heaven. And trust in the communion of saints, knowing that love in Christ is never wasted.
@haxrcalled4chan As everyone notes, Samwise, according to Tolkien, is the actual primary hero (but not sole hero, just, literally the most important). Funny aside to that, of the Fellowship, Tolkien also said Legolas was the least important. Not unimportant, but he really doesn't do too much.
@No4167 Remember there was a time when a man looking like this was just a joke? Oh, how we all laughed. Still a joke, but sadly, it's no longer intentional.
Something weird I've always found interesting is one of the key proofs of human sacrifice (aside from ample material proof in bodies) in pre-Christian Gaelic society. It's a weird one most people wouldn't notice because it's located in the written legal codes the Christians had.
I just find it such a bizarre gap in what's otherwise an impressively labyrinthine legal code. Well, technically, two legal codes, as there was a northern and southern interpretation, but they were unified enough that polities in the north and south still used the same judges.
@X_Aeon_X I think they lack the ability to understand a person without delusions about what they are doesn't need to 'affirm their gender'. A man or woman is not affirming jackshit by each doing things their specific sex requires for health and the like, they already know what they are.
