In my lifetime I have been blessed to be in relationship with some truly remarkable and authentic humans. My ability to relate to individuals from all walks of life has been a very welcome superpower for as far back as I can remember.

This superpower has guided me down the streets and avenues of life picking up profound internal understandings of humanity, while building a network of reciprocal love and brotherhood along the way.
I am honored and privileged to be in relationship with this brilliant black woman and will continue to give her all the flowers while she masterfully works to change our world for the better.

#InTheNews: A new system in California recasts gun violence as a public health concern. It’s saving lives...#HospitalbasedViolenceInterventionPrograms could soon see funds provided by Medi-Cal, the state’s Medicaid program.
Figuring out all the nuts and bolts of how the funding will work will take time. In the meantime, the HAVI is convening a large group of violence prevention organizations across the state, including @YouthALIVE510 , to determine what next steps look like.
“We’re working really, really hard to get that right,” Dr. Kyle Fischer @KBFischer , policy director @TheHAVI said. “What we are aiming to do is making sure that in every county in California where there is a survivor of violence that needs violence prevention services – those county health plans are working with the local violence intervention programs so that they’re being reimbursed in a fair, equitable and strong way that minimizes the bureaucracy.”
These organizations are also working to help both lawmakers and the general public begin to see community violence as a public health concern.

I am running for mayor of Sacramento because it breaks my heart to watch our neighbors suffer when we have the resources to care for them. #MoreIsPossible 🫶🏿

Thank you @GavinNewsom for signing #AB1929 into law.
@AsmJesseGabriel has championed violence prevention for years, and now sustainable public health funding for violence prevention is finally a reality in CA.
We're so proud to co-sponsor with @GiffordsCourage and @TheHAVI
Today California became the 5th state in the U.S. to pass legislation ensuring community violence prevention services are covered by Medicaid. Thank you @AsmJesseGabriel@YouthALIVE510 for your leadership! #AB1929@KBFischer

"To have @CAgovernor once again strip out funding for community-based orgs, clinics, & tribal orgs is devastating. 2 years of historic #CAbudget surpluses, during which the rich got richer and the underserved still get crumbs, is beyond incomprehensible." https://t.co/WR8BUWY6Ih
