A few of the Liberal Party of Canada's anti-Alberta economic policies implemented since 2015:
- Cancellation of Northern Gateway Pipeline (2016): Rejected over environmental concerns, blocking tidewater access for Alberta oil.
- Effective cancellation of Energy East Pipeline (2017-2018): New federal rules on upstream/downstream emissions made the project unviable.
- Bill C-48 – Oil Tanker Moratorium Act (2019): Banned oil tankers along much of BC's northern coast, limiting export options.
- Bill C-69 – Impact Assessment Act (2019): Overhauled project reviews (the "no more pipelines bill"), adding broad criteria that created delays and uncertainty.
- Federal Carbon Tax / Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act (2019 onward): National carbon pricing backstop, seen as a direct hit on Alberta's energy sector.
- Clean Fuel Standard, methane regulations, and other emissions rules: Targeted controls increasing costs and complexity for oil & gas.
- Proposed Oil & Gas Emissions Cap (drafted ~2022-2024): Aimed at sharp sector reductions (critics called it a de facto production cap); later partially rolled back.

Let’s be frank.
Carney has sold out Canada to a dying Europe that is aligned with the unelected globalist elite to the detriment of Canadians.
Smith has sold out Albertans to a Canada now tied to an unelected globalist elite to the double detriment of Albertans.
Our taxes, wealth and prosperity have been compromised with an Ottawa-First MOU while demand for our greatest resource continues to rise every year.
A Leadership Review ensures Albertans have their say.
If she won’t Cancel the MOU and fulfill the promises she made to the UCP members who voted her in to put Alberta First, then put Albertans First by democratically holding a Leadership Review to let them decide who best can lead Albertans into the 2027 election. UCP members and all Albertans deserve a true conservative choice.

My admiration for Jeff Rath just grew.
I had no idea he had just lost his wife.
All through this, he still came out, did interviews, stood tall for Alberta, never backed down, and voiced himself on our behalf.
That deserves a whole lot of respect. 🫡
My condolences to Jeff and his family.
Albertans have already tried sending Ottawa a message.
In 2021, 61.7% voted to remove equalization from the Constitution. Ottawa and the other premiers ignored it. Nothing changed.
That is the difference between symbolism and leverage.
The other referendum questions may express Alberta’s frustration, but they do not bind Ottawa to act.
An independence referendum is different. It forces Canada to confront Alberta’s unfair treatment directly.
This vote should not be about party labels or personalities. It should be about whether Albertans have enough say over the decisions that shape our jobs, homes, services, and future.
Get informed. Compare the claims. Then vote.
“A pipeline as soon as Sept. 2027”. That is weasel speak for NOT BEFORE September 2027 if at all.
By adding 7.00 to 10.00 a barrel to the cost of production regardless of market price, by increasing the tax to 95.00 a tonne while eliminating loopholes in the “carbon credit market” producers will be facing a major squeeze on profits while major players in the phoney carbon credit market like Brookfield get a massive windfall.
This is why Carney was made Prime Minister. He is stealing from us in plain view.

Will you stand beside me, not beneath me, as one Albertan to another, and choose — of your own sovereign will — to remember with me what we were always meant to be... free?
Imagine what Alberta would be without Canada dragging along behind.
Alberta's economy is leading Canada in 2026, despite Carneys national recession!
Alberta's real GDP at 2.6% growth in 2026, is far outpacing Canada's 0.8%, with similar leads in 2024 and 2025. Alberta maintains no provincial sales tax, the lowest corporate tax rate, and red-tape cuts as keys to making Alberta the country's economic engine.
This, while having billions of dollars taken every year from Albertans to fund Ottawa, and being attacked from coast to coast.
Federalist slogans are calling for Alberta to lead. We already are, and we will continue to lead other provinces out the front door as the Canadian house of cards collapses.
If Alberta can break free from the Canadian drag chute pulling it back, imagine the future of hope, security, and common sense that we can build for the next generations.
Before the last Federal Election, I was a strong supporter of keeping Canada together.
I was one of the people who was pushing back against Alberta Independence.
I really thought Canada could start moving in a better direction, with new leadership.
Then the election happened, and the realization finally hit me.
The Liberals have perverted the demographics so severely, that they will never lose another Federal Election.
Canada was never intended to be a dictatorship, but here we are.
So I could either support that, or I could support Alberta Independence.
I chose Alberta Independence.❤️
@RebelNews_CA@SheilaGunnReid I love @acoyne. Every time he issues one of his arrogant Laurentian screeds he reminds Albertans why we need to leave.
Coyne, his buddy @jkenney and Mark Carney are three VERY effective salespeople for Alberta Independence!
"Worth noting: "an independence referendum remains the only practical way to force a real negotiation over Alberta’s future including Alberta's right to become an independent country."" @nspector4
News flash: Canada is so deep in imported foreign interference of all things it is a given all provinces have issues with it.
Trying to hang your hat on spinning it to focus on the independence movement is obviously banking on peoples naivety.
You really are simply a pair of lips that rarely engages ones brain before acting or speaking revealing a calculated stretch of the truth and exaggeration for political foly.
Reality is in Alberta where it counts you are of little consequence to most Albertans. Unfortunately for the #NDP worst mistake they ever made bringing you on board.
@albertaNDP@canpoli
@nenshi@MLAIrfanSabir There is already WAY to much foreign interference Naheed.
Albertans regard you, Lukaszuk, Poilievre, Kenney and Carney as foreigners who are interfering in our discussion with our fellow Albertans.

In case you forgot, Shannon Phillips was the Environment Minister under Rachel Notley.
She's the woman who spent years trying to shrink our oil patch, and now she's helping lecture us on why we shouldn't leave the country that's holding us back.
Of course she wants Alberta to stay in Canada, she and Carney have the same vision.
