New Jersey wanted Buc-ee’s. Booker killed it.

Senator Cory Booker is being called “directly responsible” for losing a deal with Buc-ee’s Travel Centers that would have brought billions in revenue and hundreds of jobs to the state.

In the final negotiations for a $2 billion plan to put two of the massive complexes on the New Jersey Turnpike, Booker refused to pressure the governor to sign a waiver allowing customers at Buc-ee’s locations to pump their own gas. New Jersey law still forbids self-service stations.

“It was a simple request he’s done before to get approval for self-service for campaign donors,” said Buc-ee’s spokesman Joe Barron. “He doesn’t like our owners or their politics.”

New Jersey was looking forward to Buc-ee’s. Booker is going to pay for this at the polls.

He is an empty shell when it comes to implementing real policy that can actually become law.

THE GREEN NEW DEAL = an election year slogan. It has NEVER received a single YES vote on the Senate floor. Markey himself voted PRESENT and even he didn’t have the courage or 🏈 ⚽️ to vote YES.

MEDICARE FOR ALL = an election year slogan. It has a zero chance of becoming law. Six years ago, Markey promised to get it passed. It never made it out of Committee. Democrats like @SenSchumer and @RepJeffries don’t support it.

ABOLISH ICE = an election year slogan. Six years ago the election year slogan was DEFUND THE POLICE.

TAX THE RICH = an election year slogan on repeat. Ed Markey voted to bailout billionaires and banks in 2008. He’s had 50 years to do it. His party has been in complete control of all branches of government for a total of almost TWO DECADES and he’s not gotten it done.

THE TRUTH: Ed Markey is full of 💩 and he’s gaslighting voters when it comes to getting real legislation passed.

We need to elect someone who agrees that we need to greatly reform healthcare in America. I have a plan that breaks up the three monopolies controlling over 90% of America’s healthcare with no transparency.

I support real immigration reform. We need to make sure ICE is properly trained and works with local law enforcement focusing on real bad guys. Deportations are a part of a comprehensive immigration plan. Anyone who claims we will end federal immigration law enforcement in America is lying to you.

I have a plan to make common sense tax reforms that close the loopholes and lessens the burden on working families.

I have a specific energy plan that cuts energy costs in half in MA.

I have a common sense housing plan.

I have a nationwide vocational training and jobs initiative.

I have a plan on eduction and student loans.

I have a common sense Data Center plan that keeps control locally, protects ratepayers from increased energy costs or grid upgrades, and implements community-benefit plans that rewards communities who welcome them based on those community-benefit agreements.

And so much more.
