I published a paper with @GHunter_1 on #COVID19 infection fatality rates (IFR), based on work we did early in the pandemic. The specific estimates have been overtaken by new data, the variants, etc., but there are still some interesting lessons in it: https://t.co/kzNEKcMnzE
Some customers Ottawa may be experiencing an Internet or TV service interruption. We are working to restore service as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.
Here is a reality check about what Canadian authors actually earn and about the Canadian publishing industry because I think the public has some huge misconceptions about what even a bestseller means. 1/
@NCC_CCN Is the multi use path open across the overpass yet? Or do we still need to detour down through the beach and up the dangerous switchback? #ottbike
A #PSA to anyone left on #ottbike and #ottwalk - the Trillium/Gladstone crossing signals are active. HOWEVER, the set of beg buttons closest to the bike path appear to be for pedestrians crossing the path E-W, not cyclists crossing the road N-S.
@Teelin @grilledscheese_ One of the reasons we had problems challenging late pay with Phoenix is because the parts of the CLC that deal with that don’t apply to people hired under the PSEA.
@Teelin @grilledscheese_ This may not necessarily be true. In the core public service the only part of the CLC that applies is the health and safety chapter. I don’t know the ins and outs of what Act CP bargaining and standards falls under.
@Laskinator2@sfyro Biked my daughter to ballet today. Left turn at IPD so thankfully only catch the edge of that construction patch. The pinch at the SW corner of IPD/Richmond is still a bit cute.
@Laskinator2@sfyro I’ve been going along Armstrong behind Tom Brown, but the melt/freeze cycle of the arena snow has started to make that hazardous. Can’t win!
@Laskinator2 Hatchie matchie. I’m starting to see more cement forms around both Carruthers and Bayswater, but still not totally clear how it’s going to all come together.
Hi #ottbike - our orange Yuba electric cargo bike was stolen from our building in Mechanicsville yesterday evening. The air tag on it was discarded in Chinatown by Bruyere medical clinic. Please keep an eye out! https://t.co/qb2hZNZTs3
@JLeiper Hi Jeff - I appreciate the update. I will say that I saw the “appropriate signage” this morning and it says “sidewalk closed.” In fact, the sidewalk is open, it is the bike lane that is closed. Mixed and potentially confusing messages are not great for traffic safety.
