Macomb County clerk and Republican S.O.S. nominee Anthony Forlini has to comb through 5K voter registrations with signatures that don’t match the QVF, names already on file, and 47 registrations for one applicant—clerks saying 9 out of 10 aren’t legitimate. Meanwhile, Jocelyn Benson’s office can fail the Citizens Only petition with a 1K signature sample and come up only three names short. The clerks drown in junk and have to prove it. The S.O.S. drowns a ballot measure and calls it a review.
