Exit velo is a cherry-picked stat that lacks the context of stadium effect and it treats groundball velocity the same as home runs. 88mph sounds great until you realize Stephen Kwan is a 91.

It doesn't get past me to think Paul Toboni had to be crushing on James Wood even while with the Red Sox. Wood has been incredible hitting leadoff . He looks like a whole new type of leadoff hitter.
